CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2007: REAL MADRID 3-LAZIO 0 & CHELSEA FC 0-VALENCIA CF 0

The good news is that REAL MADRID has secured its spot for the next
stage of the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE as group leader, while VALENCIA
CF
say goodbye & fail to stay in Europe even via the UEFA Cup option.

REAL MADRID defeated LAZIO 3-1 in a good display of Football
marred by a certain relaxation in the last 15 mins of play that lead

to the Lazio goal. So much was the relaxation that in the last seconds
Lazio was awarded a penalty due to a Pepe foul that was stopped
by Real keeper IKER CASILLAS, who is gaining & conquering

a reputation as possibly the Best keeper in the World at this moment.

Real had a magic 1º half with great play with BAPTISTA starting

the scoring wave going with his outside the box shot in the 13th min.

Then 2 mins later the "rejuvenated" RAUL headed a Robinho cross
to make it Real´s second.

The dominance continued when ROBINHO scored the 3rd in the 36th
min & confirmed Madrid on their winning path.

The 2º half saw changes with Robben coming on & playing well with
the Lazio goalie stopping 2 "crackers", plus Guti & Higuain getting a run.
However special mention must go to VAN NISTELROOY who was

fantastic & SERGIO RAMOS who was a powerhouse along the right
flank.

Lazio managed to score a goal via PANDEV in the 80th min & then

missed a penalty in the last moment.

VALENCIA CF drew 0-0 to CHELSEA FC away , but that was´nt
enough & said goodbye to Europe . Not much to really add
here, only to say that Chelsea finishes top of its group & Valencia
seem stuck in a "psychological trap" that they cant seem to get out
off. Now their only objective for the season is the local competition
which may help pull them out of the slump in general.

Tomorrow, both Fc Barcelona & Sevilla Fc play. Surf into SFS late
& see the result, scorers & images.
