GETAFE
took a slim 1-0 advantage to Holland to meet TWENTE &
it was a nail bitting result. The game went into extra time & 4 goals

Twente grabbed the lead with a goal from WIELAERT in the 29th min
& ended 1-0 in normal time with the Dutch 1º man down due to a
Red Card. The game went into extra-time & Moral missed a penalty
early in the 1º half of extra. However, Getafe scored twice quickly via
BEELENGUER & GRANERO & looked set to take the tie.
Then Twente gave a scare with 2º rapid goals by ENGELAAR in the
123rd min & ZOMER in the 124th min. Getafe managed to
hold on & win the tie on aggragate ( 3-3 away goal rule). Heart attack

The negative part of the night was the elimination of REAL
ZARAGOZA
by ARIS SALONIKA 2-2 on aggragate.
Although the Spaniards won 2-1 at home the away goal by
the Greeks was enough to give them the tie.
Zaragoza started well & it looked bright with the 1º goal of the
night thanks to OLIVEIRA ( pictured). However, Aris managed
the important away goal via JAVITO & it was uphill for Zaragoza
from then on, although GRACIA got one back late in the game.
It was not enough & the Greeks qualify for the group qualifiers.

Damn! I stopped watching the Getafe game after Granero scored, thinking that goal to be the clincher. Turns out it was, but I'm sorry to have missed the comeback.

Too bad about Zaragoza, especially after last year's performance, both in La Liga and UEFA Cup. I wonder how much difference is due to the loss of the Younger Milito?

I'm looking forward to this weekend's match. You won't hear me say this too often, but Aupa Atleti!

Nice try, Striker, you know I'll forever back the men in White. But unlike most Real fans, I'm an Atletico sympathizer. And when they go up against the likes of Barcelona, I'm not ashamed to jump up and down and cheer them on.
