EURO 2008: DENMARK 1 - SPAIN 3. FINALLY IT FINDS ITS GAME.

SFS was glad to be wrong, SFS predicted beforehand that
Spain would have a bad night, & it had a grand game.
SPAIN defeated DENMARK 1-3 in its all important Euro
2008 qualifier & now touches overall qualification.

The 1º half was brilliant, SFS was surprised, it was a long

time since it had seen such good play. The reason, a great
CESC FABREGAS & IÑIESTA, finally some common sense

for coach Aragones.

First goal from
RAUL TAMUDO, an excellent header.

Second goal, a great chip shot over the goalkeeper
by SERGIO RAMOS

Third goal by RIERA a "cracker".

Match details:

Denmark: Sorensen, Helveg, M. Laursen, U. Laursen,
N. Jensen (78'), Poulsen, D. Jensen, Andreasen (46'),
Rommedahl, Tomasson, Gronkjaer (65'),
Christiansen, C. Sorensen, Wurtz, Kahlenberg (65'),
Bendtner (46'), Pérez (78').
Spain: Casillas, S. Ramos, Marchena, Albiol, Capdevila,
Albelda (63'), Joaquín (68'), Xavi, Cesc (78'),
Iniesta, Tamudo, Reina, Pernía, Pablo (63'),
Riera (68'), Silva, Luis García (78').

Goals:0-1 (14'): Tamudo.0-2 (39'): Sergio Ramos.
1-2 (87'): Tomasson.1-3 (89'): Riera.

Conclusion: Coach Aragones comes out strenghtened &
Spain does not need RAUL, DAVID VILLA nor FERNANDO
TORRES. Do you agree? :)
Oppps, SFS nearly forgot, excellent match from goalkeeper
CASILLAS.

Striker-

I totally agree. It was great to see La Furia Roja play with passion, hope, at their potential, and to leave their egos at the door. Aragones selected in form players who played as a team 100% for the shirt. For once he got it right.

Aupa España!

A great match - and I credit not only the form of the players, but a much needed shift from the 4-4-2 formation. What a thrilling string of midfielders, and with Sergio Ramos backing them up! My only worry, should such a formation be employed against Sweden, would be a weak defense.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if Sweden beats N. Ireland on Wednesday, Spain is as good as qualified (considering N.)?

Anyhow, I wouldn't rule out the players you listed, striker, Villa and Torres could still be useful. But, yes, the squad on Saturday certainly proved themselves worthy of their selections.

John , my question on Torres, Villa etc had some irony & sarcasm injected. It makes you wonder though!
Cheers
