FC BARCELONA took on ATLETIC DE BILBAO & won 3-1 with
a gran performance from RONALDINHO (pictured) who scored
the first 2 goals, one from a fantastic free-kick & the other from
the penalty spot.
Ronaldinho pictured below, celebrating one of his goals with his
teammates.
TOURE also was given the 3rd goal that was´nt, a powerful shot that
hit the bar & bounced infront of the line,lastly 19 year MARKEL
SUSAETA pulled one back for Bilbao.
Overall good game from Barça who was superior, & great match from
Messi who marvels with his skill
VALENCIA CF had a tough game away against newly promoted
side ALMERIA & managed to win 1 - 2 with fighting grit & the goals
from MORIENTES (pictured above) in the 45min & MORETTI.
Almeria were unlucky to lose, as they played well with their only
goal coming from NEGREDO
VALLADOLID & DEPORTIVO illustarted a toughly fought 2-2
draw, with goals from GARCIA CALVO & SISI for Valladolid &
for Deportivo goals from TABARDA & RIKI
LUIS GARCIA for ESPANYOL exploded with 2 grand goals against
REAL BETIS & it looked like he would drive his team on to victory.
However, Betis had other ideas & fought back to draw with 2 goals
from FERNANDO & SOLIS. Final score 2-2
GETAFE & RECREATIVO finished in a 1-1 draw with goals from
DEL MORAL for Getafe & PONGOLLE for Recreativo
REAL MADRID defeated VILLAREAL 0-5 with a fantastic performance
in the 2º half. The whole team played well , after the initial first 15min
of nerves to overrun Villareal in the last 30min of the match.
RAUL opened the score ( pictured) with a "chip" over the keeper from a
SNEIJDER pass. Then Sneijder scored the 2º with a brilliant free kick,
followed by the 3º goal from V.NISTELROOY & the 4th again by Dutchmen
SNEIJDER. GUTI finished with the 5th which was a good reward for his
excellent game all night.
Its good news for Real with the signning of Sneijder ( pictured above)
who is proving to be a real "crack" with fire power , vision, skill & goal.
Promises to be one of the highlights of the season if he continues to develop
this way.
ATLETICO DE MADRID took on MALLORCA at home & was "pushed
around" with a lucky 1-1 draw.
Ex - Getafe forward GUIZA opened for Mallorca in the 18min ( pictured
above) & Mallorca took control of the game. However, Atletico fought back
& managed to draw in the 77min thanks to a goal from PERNIA.
Atletico needs to improve & were out classed tonight. As the saying goes,
a draw better than a loss.

Well i wasn't expecting a 5 - 0 victory for Real. I expect, this will take the press off Schuster's back for a while.
At the moment this team looks like Real Madrid of old - 'we will score more goals than you'. Frankly we were bloody lucky not to conceed 5 goals in the first half from Drenthe's rather poor defending, but key tackles and saves from casillas, canavaro and metzelder held them off.
What can I say about the performance of all the attcking players? They were simply brilliant, Raul, Sniejder and Guti in particular.
Drenthe looked much more comfortable after he moved up to attack with Hienze coming on for Raul (which for me was exactly the right substitution). I wonder about Drenthe - clearly he is an exciting player, but with Robben and Henize in the squad how much will he be used?
I still want to see more Robinho - interesting to see him in a much freer role.
Great to watch - I think we were a bit lucky with this game, we played brilliantly well at times, but also Villareal could not finsh despite several good chances in the first half. After the second goal they sort of gave up, hence the score.
