concretely in the city of Gijon (Asturias).
Yesterday SFS was invited to witness the 2º Division game
between REAL SPORTING DE GIJON & ELCHE, at the
Molinon Staduim ( see picture below).
Real Sporting was established in 1905 & has represented
its city proudly since then, with an array of star players
that have ranged from Quini, Eloy, Maceda, Ablanedo,
Abelardo, Manjarin, Juanele, Luis Enrique & David
Villa...all Spanish Internationals & World names.
Its glory days was in the 1970s & 80s, were it was
runners up in "La Liga" & twice in the Spanish Cup.
The club is currently in 2º Division ( 10th year straight)
& is attempting to get back up to the Top division with a
very young team full of illusion
Yesterday Sporting drew 1-1 against Elche, whos
goalkeeper CABALLERO made a miracle save at the last
moment to halt a Sporting win.

SFS has a "soft" spot for Sporting ( its 2º team) & wishes
to thank the club for its hospitality. Lets hope this young side
has a great season & can get back into "La Liga" were they
belong.
