EURO 2008: SPANISH NATIONAL SIDE PREPARE FOR THEIR ICELAND & LATVIA CLASHES

The Spanish National Football squad is in Madrid preparing
& training for its upcoming EURO 2008 Group F clashes, as
the Spanish 1º Division - "La Liga" - takes a break.

The first of the 2º matches is this Saturday at ICELAND with
the other clash at home against LATVIA on the 12 of September.
Both are must win games - draws are not enough - if Spain wishes
to be present with the European elite at Euro 2008.

The first "scare" of the preparation sessions was with Liverpool
forward FERNANDO TORRES. He had a knock with Abelda in
a play session & his knee came out worst. However, its only a "locked
nerve" & should not halt his work or danger his presence in the
upcoming games. Fernando finds himself in fine form & already has
notched up 3 goals in the Premier League, 2 of which he scored
last weekend.

Coach Aragones is also working on the psychological side with long
chats with Joaquin, Pernia, Silva & company. They will keep on working
with double sessions: morning & afternoon.

i expect Liverpool won't be happy - he is looking really good for them since his arrival.

It seems the general opinion from SFS that Torres should leave Atleti for his own sake is proving to be the correct opinion.

I watched Liverpool destroy derby county last week and Torres was in the thick of most of it.
