Sp. paper "Marca" has announced that REAL MADRID has come
to an agreement "in principal" with MANCHESTER UTD for
Argentine International left-back GABRIEL HEINZE. The deal
is around 12M€ & now the player must OK it , after seeing his desire
to go to Liverpool frustrated by his club.
"Marca" go further & announce it all as a done deal & headline the
player as a definate new signning for Real, after coach Schuster
(according to the paper) highlighted the left back position as a
weakness, apart from a lack of a "killer" striker
Lets see how this all turns out, just to be prudent!
Rival paper "AS" publish that Heinze dismisses any talks with
RealMadrid & that his only concern is Liverpool... mmm something
fishy!
Stay tuned, SFS will notify as things clear.
Other news is that HAMBURG has again rejected VALENCIA CF
last & higher offer ( +20M€) for VAN DAR HAART.
This has made Valencia "throw in the towel" & accept that the signning
of this player will not be possible this season as Hamburg are not willing
to sell under any circumstance.

given my slighly unfair but instant dislike for Pepe I think this has to be a good thing if it's true.
is there anyone else that thinks that RM cannot simply continue to buy players without upsetting and inevitably losing some good players?
Eventually, I would imagine that yes, some players will leave. But overwhelmingly large rosters are not uncommon these days, with clubs competing in multiple competitions simultaneously. And with starting positions pretty much up for grabs at the moment, the current roster should inspire some healthy competition among the squad. And hey - Madrid still doesn't have a natural Left Back. So I'd welcome Heinze.

sorry - posted twice.
John,
your input is so positive & constructive that they should be always posted twice:)
This just in: Heinze has agreed to a four year 5 million pound contract with Real Madrid. As long as their are no hitches with the medical, the contract should be signed in the next 48 hours. Madrid will soon have an actual Left Back. Even though his performance for Man U was lackluster, I'll be excited to see the Argentine in white. (Irony: this will be the third defensive player acquired by a team who claims to be shifting it's focus to attacking football, fourth if you count Drenthe.)
And thanks, Striker! Flattery will get you everywhere! (You've even managed to exctract some Atleti sympathies from a staunch Madrid supporter - quite an accomplishment!)
John,
Madrid's actually got Marcelo who is a natural Left Back. Torres isn't bad either
Totally right - i completly forgot about Marcelo - partially because he never gets played! Why is that?
maybe because he's too young. but i think he should get more playing time or else get loaned to get more playing time.
