It was confirmed last night & shut in a hotel in Madrid. SEVILLA FC
Brazilian defender DANIEL ALVES will go to CHELSEA FC for
32M€ ( plus 4M€ in incentives). REAL MADRID, the other club in
the push, backed out after Chelsea lifted its offer.
As SFS speculated on the below post , it now seems that the Real
Madrid offer may have been a "bluff" ( shared by "Mundo Deportivo")
& a strategy to help force Chelsea to let go of Real´s real objetive

The Dani Alves signning opens the door to Robben to leave his club
& join Real Madrid. Without evidence & only speculation, Real may
have backed off on the condition that Chelsea finally accept their
conditions for the Dutch International.
Now Chelsea can finance the Alves operation with the money they
will receive from Real Madrid ( their offer is 31M€ for Robben).
There is also talk that the operation was OKed with the 3 clubs
agreeing to the following: Alves to Chelsea as long as Robben comes
to Madrid, & Madrid sells CICINHO to Sevilla FC to substitute the
loss of Alves. Thus Real also finance part of the spend on Robben &
Sevilla replaces Alves with a perfect substitute.
The only obstacule? Cicinho will have to agree & has an offer from
AC ROMA worth 14M€, & the player is happy & desires to play in
Italy.

I dont think Robben is a must anymore. Drenthe and Robinho can both play on the left. it would be better to keep Cicinho because he can play on the Right winger and can compete for the position with Robinho and Balboa. I'd rather Salgado to be sold and keep Cicinho because he is more versatile.
