SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA - ROUND 37 SATURDAY GAMES. REAL MADRID IN THE BOX SEAT

If you have a heart condition, this was not a good Round for
your health. The continuing changing results throughtout the

90 mins was causing panic for fans at the top & bottom of the
table.
FC BARCELONA had the League on a platter, until
ESPANYOL
Captain TAMUDO equalized in the last 8 mins & at another
ground REAL MADRID was literally saved by VAN NISTELROOY
who scored to equalize as well. Meanwhile, while both Barça &
Real were back on equal points , SEVILLE fumbled its chance
to reach them both to equalize on points, to draw against Mallorca
& practically shut their title door.

In the middle, ATLETICO DE MADRID losses to a desperate
CELTA DE VIGO who is fighting relegation & may miss its
Uefa Cup place, as VILLAREAL beat BILBAO to overtake Atletico.
Finally, OSASUNA points BETIS to the 2º Division abyss with a
0-5 victory.

It all goes down to the wire next week, in the last Round, but Real
Madrid have half a foot on the title stand & Celta, Bilbao & Betis fight
to save themselves from the 2º Division "hell".

REAL MADRID cameback from death with the equalizing
goal from VAN NISTELROOY. The Dutchmen scored Real´s

2 goals & has virtually in his bag the "Pichichi" title ( Spanish
League Top goal scorer).
ZARAGOZA managed to get in front twice with 2 goals from
DIEGO MILITO, but the appearance of GUTI in the 2 half with a
superb pass, set up the equalizer - 2-2- the final score. Real Madrid

stay on top & now only have to win at home next week against
Mallorca to seal the league title.

FC BARCELONA was at home & may have handed the league
to arch rival Real. After leading 2-1 with 7 mins left,
TAMUDO
equalized for ESPANYOL. Real was drawing at Zaragoza & a
Barça win would have put them 2 points ahead, but they snuffed

it.
MESSI was outstanding ( yes, he touched the ball & cheated) scoring
Barça´s 2 goals , same as Tamudo. Barcelona plays Ginmastic next
week & are likely to win, but so
are Real & that will give the latter the
title. Headline title : Tamudo gives Real Madrid half a title - final score 2-2

LEVANTE secured their stay in "La Liga" next season with a stylish
4-2 victory over VALENCIA CF. Levante player SALVA ( above) got
on the scoring sheet with his teammates RIGA who scored twice &
COURTOIS.

ATLETICO DE MADRID suicided lossing to CELTA DE VIGO
2-3
at home. The great return of MAXI RODRIGUEZ with 2
goals was shadowed by the fact that with VILLAREAL winning
3-1 against AT.BILBAO, they knocked out ATLETICO from
the remaining Uefa Cup place.
BAIANO ( above) scored twice & helped his team grab 3 vital
points to allow his team to fight next week in a do or die match
to avoid relegation.
Calamity for Atletico, no European competition participation
next year is an authentic DISASTER.

OSASUNA won 0-5 REAL BETIS & will sweat next week
as they are candidates for 2º Division. It will be a must win
game for them in the last round

RESULTS & SCORERS:
Levante 4 ( Riga 2; Salva;Courtois) - Valencia CF 2 (Joaquin;Baraja)
Mallorca 0 - Seville FC 0
Zaragoza 2 ( D.Milito 2) - Real Madrid 2 ( V.Nistelrooy 2)
Betis 0 - Osasuna 5 ( Flaño;Webo;Valdo;Sola 2)

Messi outstanding? What? Are you on drugs? The fucker cheated and he is outstanding?? Biggest joke I have read today. Good job Sir!

Yes, he did cheat & that is worth a serious sanction, although he was the only player who at least showned real signs of attempting to do sometime & secure the victory for his team.

Thanks, will , fine tune my comment.

Drugs? Never take them & please dont call me Sir, makes me feel as old. Striker is ok.

Thanks for your comments & hope to see you back soon.
Cheers

Alot of english people get very uptight about fairplay and cheating. Generally, there is a more relaxed attitude in Spain - if you can get away with it then so be it.
Despite Messi's talent if he were playing in england right now i suspect his career would be threatened becsaue the press would not stop talking about it.

My personal opinion is that Messi is the most exciting player in the world right now - in a way this 'hand of god' thing makes him even more interesting
.....furthermore I'm a Real fan so perhaps I'm supposed to hate him for this even more, he nearly took the title off us with this trick ....I'm afraid there are many years I have to endure where this guy punishes us. Can't bring myself to hate him though, he's just too good to watch.
