SPANISH FOOTBALL - LA LIGA - REAL MADRID CHAMPIONS 2006/2007 ( SEE VIDEO HIGHLIGHT)

As the headline says REAL MADRID has won its 30th League
title after defeating in a nail bitter MALLORCA 3-1. It was´nt
that easy, at the another ground FC BARCELONA was winning
comfortably 1-5 & time was running out. However, in the last
25 mins a burst of heart & will inspired Real to score the 3 goals
& give it the needed victory.
FC BARCELONA hammered GIMNASTIC 1-5 but it was´nt enough
to give them the title.
SEVILLE FC lost surprisingly ( perhaps thinking in next weeks
Spanish Cup Final) 0-1 to VILLAREAL. The latter securing its Uefa
Cup place.
ZARAGOZA grabbed the other remaining Uefa Cup place drawing
awat with RECREATIVO 1-1.
Lastly, ATLETICO DE MADRID won 2-1 away to OSASUNA, but with
the win of Villareal & the Zaragoza draw, it was´nt enough & they missed

the Uefa Cup place & thus making their season a disaster.

REAL MADRID started badly with a goal in the 16th mt by
VARELA for MALLORCA (0-1)that shook the local side. The
nerves increased as FC Barcelona was running riot in their
match.

Things continued to go badly as VAN NISTELROOY injury himself
& was changed. He takes the "Pichichi" title (Sp League Top
Goal Scorer) with 25 goals , but misses the "European Golden
Boot " by 1 solitary goal.

Then real alarms, as BECKHAM also had to go due to injury.
Barça was winning well & Real was losing important men. This

was Beckham´s farewell game & he does it in grand style with
the Spanish League title.
























Then the comeback in the 2º half, REYES equalizes & brings back
the hope. Higuain set him up to score & set his team on fire. Reyes

would later score the teams 3º & final goal.

DIARRA put his team ahead (2-1) with a header from a corner
that put his team in front & gave them the title on a plate which
Reyes ( as mentioned) sealed.

FC BARCELONA only had one objective to WIN & wait for the

Real Madrid result & they went for it from the start defeating
GIMNASTIC 1- 5 with goals from PUYOL ( above opening the

scoreline), MESSI 2 goals; RONALDINHO ( free kick) &
ZAMBROTTA in the 90th mt. But it was´nt enough as their
rival had secured the victory. Many say Barça simply lost the title

to Real Madrid.

SEVILLE FC finishes 3rd after losing to VILLAREAL 0-1
with a goal from FUENTES. Seville now prepares itself for
next Saturday´s SPANISH CUP final against Getafe.

ATLETICO DE MADRID played for the last Uefa Cup place
& they did their job defeating OSASUNA 1-2, but it was´nt
enough as ZARAGOZA drew 1-1 away to REACREATIVO
& Villareal won. Disasterous season for Atletico who lost their
Euro place due to bad play all season.
