EURO 2008 : LATVIA 0 - SPAIN 2. SPANIARDS GET THE JOB DONE

SPAIN defeated 0-2 LATVIA in their Group F qualifying game
for the EURO 2008 competition. Three valuable & vital points that
gives the team confidence & increased chances in getting through
the Group for Austria 2008.
Little to talk about in depth, only to say, that Spain did the job,
although they really did not convience or play well. Too many shots

from outside the box & little use of the wings. But they got the 3 points
& that was the objective.

One of the highlights was the debut of ESPANYOL foward LUIS
GARCIA
( pictuted above) who played well.

The 1º goal come towards the end of the 1º half thanks to an own goal
by Latvian ZAKRESEVSKI who rebound the ball into his net with
DAVID VILLA pressuring from behind.

Play continued in the 2º half with the same strategy, when
INIESTA
( pictured above) scored the 2º goal when the ball came off him from
a XAVI shot.

Normal game, not brilliant but effective. Spain now plays
LIECHESTSTEIN on Wednesday & if they win, they can virtually
breathe easier in their quest for Euro 2008 qualification.
