BERND SCHUSTER NEXT COACH OF REAL MADRID

Its the front cover of "AS", along with news pieces in "Marca",
"Sport"...etc. Everyone is saying that Getafe coach & ex- Barça,
ex-Real Madrid & ex-Atletico player BERND SCHUSTER will
replace Fabio Capello for next season.

Apparently, winning the Spanish League is not enough & the style
of play is important. President Calderon unhappy with play & results
back in March did a "gentlemans" agreement with Schuster to take over
the side.
To add fire to the Calderon - Capello divorce , the latter said publically
after winning the Spanish Title that he did not feel any "warmth" from his
President.
Fabio Capello´s only backer is "Football Director", Pedga Mijatovic, who
has lost ground & influence & is also on "the edge".
The naming will officially be communicated after this weekends Spanish
Cup Final between Getafe & Seville FC.
As Schuster has said publically, he is ready to coach Real Madrid.

Lets keep an eye on this, as the next few days will be important with an internal
club battle putting head to head all factions. Who will win?

Capello should stay he just proved how good he is by winning the league
i personally dont like the defensive style but i believe they would be playing more attacking if they get a good Attacking midfielder. Schuster hasnt proved himself in a big club yet. the pressure would be very differnt from a small club like Getafe. I just hope Calderon dont make the same mistake as the previous president.

Completly agree Zazinho.

This is just the kind of disloyal behaviour that kills the team spirt that Capello has worked so hard to rebuild.
Granted, the football looked very defensive beginning of the season, but recently Real have shown they can throw players forward to score multiple goals. If anything they need to work on the defense to stop conceeding those silly goals.
I have my complaints about Capello, namely the way he handled certain players, certain things in the formation. But he has been shown to be capable of building great character and I think the players feel alot of loyalty to him now.
I also dislike Mijatovic he strikes me as dishonest - it's not the Real Madrid way to behave as he does sometimes.
Calderon is just a stupid man who cannot keep his mouth shut - I have no time for him.

Raul should retire and be president of the club ;)

The more I think about this the more it makes me cross with Calderon - what a weak man he comes across as.

Capello recently said in an interview that he felt this season he has been like a "salmon swimming upstream". Even though the president has been unusually reticent about saying too much, it's the worst kept secret in Spanish football that he wants him out and Schuster in. Capello is also not a big fan of the Spanish press. His interviews are short and to the point, and as far as they are concerned, he doesn't provide good copy. The president is a populist by nature, so he sways with whatever the press is saying at any particular time. If, by any chance, the Schuster deal falls through and Capello stays, it will be interesting to watch how these two get on next season.

The Fans del Real Madrid blog has started an online petition to ask for Capello to stay. There's an English version if you're interested.
