was plenty of goals & REAL MADRID is news leader, with goal average
advantage over Fc Barcelona. The league is come to an exciting end
& its going to be a cliff hanger until the finish. Gimnastic & Celta lost
today & are close to definately saying goodbye to 1º Divsion.
Here´s the round up:
FC BARCELONA drew 1-1 at home to REAL BETIS & lost top spot to
their arch rival.
Barça started well with a goal from RONALDINHO in the 4th minute,
pictured below, & had control of the game until some strange changes
took place in the 2º half.
It seemed that Barça was content with the goal & took off "Ronny"
& Messi, changing Iniesta to a wing, which confused some people.
Betis put on more forwards & scored the equalizer in the last minute
thanks to SOBIS, pictured celebrating below. There are some long
faces at Camp Barça & the pressure is now on.
ATLETICO DE MADRID are in a fight for the valuable 6th place
that gives them an UEFA place, & today they finally did the job.
They defeated GETAFE ( Barça killers of the Spanish Cup) 1- 4.
Goal scorers for Atletico were TORRES ( 2) , MANICHE &
GALLETI, with MORAL pulling one back for Getafe.
FERNANDO TORRES - above - was inspirational today with his
2 goals, his determination & fighting spirit. SFS gives him the
"man of the match" title in this game.

AT. BILBAO & DEPORTIVO breathe more with the 1-1 draw
OSASUNA lost 1-4 to a brilliant VILLAREAL who have regained
that "old" touch, along with its Uruguayian forward FORLAN who
scored a "HAT - TRICK" , alone with a goal from PIRES.
Other results worth a mention are GINMASTIC 1 - 3 defeat to REAL
SOCIEDAD where the former is virtually assured to go down to
2º division. This is the same story for CELTA who lost 1-2 to LEVANTE
who put in another nail into the Celta "coffin". Lastly, RACING lost
at home to a good MALLORCA side 0-2.
Thw VALENCIA CF vs REAL ZARAGOZA match finished with
the score 2-0 in Valencia´s favour, thanks to goals by MORRETI & SILVA
who played a fantastic game today.

NOTE: Real Madrid are leaders with the same points as Barça,
however Real has a better goal average. Our right - column ladder
has not taken this in account & is incorrect to place Barça 1º.

The Real v Espanyol game has to be the most exciting game I have seen this season - at the end it was like we already won the league! I haven't seen Real in such good spirits from many years.
Strictly it isn't the goal average that takes Real over Barca since Barca have a better goal average than Real. It's actually the head to head rule - we beat and drew Barca in the 2 games of the season.
Exactly Evo, totally correct with the goal average explaination. I too learn from the comments - thats the whole idea for blogs!
Cheers
