Important games & vital points distributed in Round 30 of the
Spanish 1º Division.

CELTA DE VIGO played with their new coach STOICHKOV
& it seemed the luck of the debutant played its part. They
won 1-0 DEPORTIVO & that takes them out of the relegation
zone. The only goal was scored by BAIANO ( pictured below)
who clinched the 3 points. We´ll see if Stoichkov can transfer
his winning character to his team & finally take them away from
danger

OSASUNA drew 1-1 with RECREATIVO with goals from
CRUCHAGA & S.PONGOLLE respectively.

GETAFE got back to the winning sheet with a conviencing
3-0 win over VILLAREAL . MARIS who is pictured below is
one of the 3 scorers for his team

FC BARCELONA played MALLORCA with pressure to keep
ahead of its rivals & without Ronaldinho. They suffered throughout
the whole game & with 2 minutes left an own goal by NAVARRO
gave Barça the 1-0 victory. As the saying goes... "a win is a win".
Quick note: Mallorca failed a penalty in the 1º half!

AT.BILBAO is fighting with tooth & nail to not go down to 2º
Division for the 1º time in its more than 100 year history.
ESPANYOL scored 1º via JONATAS, but Bilbao fought back
thanks to URZAIZ ( pictured below) & his 2 goals which
managed Bilbao to grab the 3 points, thus allowing them to
"escape" from the relegation zone into 16th place.

Another team in a "fighting" mood is AT.MADRID who
need to keep winning in order to secure their place for
European competition next season. They played LEVANTE
& won 1-0 thanks to a brilliant outside of the box shot by
FERNANDO TORRES

Surprise result, last placed GIMNASTIC won 1-0
ZARAGOZA halting their progression.

Lastly, VALENCIA CF put a dent into SEVILLE FC title

aspirations with 2-0 victory, with 2 goals from inform striker
