SPANISH FOOTBALL - "LA LIGA" - ROUND 32 /07 RESULTS

The top 3 teams all won tonight & maintain their close struggle
to grab the Spanish League title. On the otherhand the bottom
teams lost & place them closer to the 2º Division for next season.
















REAL MADRID defeated AT.BILBAO away 1-4 keeping their
hopes alive in clinching the title & "saving" their season. In form
SERGIO RAMOS ( pictured ) opened the scoring for Real.
Beckham & Cicinho were back in the starting lineup & that added
punch up front, but it was VAN NISTELROOY who scored 2 goals
that set them on fire & races him up the "Pichichi" goalscoring table.













GUTI scored Real´s last goal & LLORENTE managed one back for
Bilbao.

FC BARCELONA keep top spot with a hard fought 1-0 victory over
LEVANTE. SFS was lucky to be at "Camp Nou" & witnessed how
a great MESSI feed SAMUEL ETO´O to score Barça only goal.
Messi played fantastic all game & was unlucky to not score. Levante
keeper MOLINA deserves a word, as he made some outstanding saves.
Barça wins, but does´nt convience, & will feel the pressure.

MALLORCA ended CELTA DE VIGO´s hopes of getting out
of relegation with a 0-3 win away. ARANGO pictured below

opened the scoring for Mallorca.

SEVILLE FC stay 2º on the ladder & is 1 point behind Barça

thanks to its great 3-1 win over ESPANYOL

Important victory as they also manage to stay ahead of 3º

placed Real Madrid who are breathing down their backs with
a 1 point just separating them. PUERTA - pictured above -
opened the scoring, with CHEVANTON & MARTI adding the

rest.

Its building up for an exciting finish to the "LIGA" as its up

TENNIS. RAFAEL NADAL OUTSTANDING VICTORY IN CONDE GODÓ

RAFAEL NADAL is in his best moment & on his best surface.
Today he won the prestigious clay court tournament, "Trofeo
Conde Godó" in Barcelona against Argentine GUILLERMO
CAÑAS 6-3 6-4

Little to add, except superb tennis from both players
were Nadal just wore down Cañas who tried his best,

but it was´nt enough.
Another victory which makes Nadal the best tennis player
in the world this year, although still behind Federer in the
overall regular standings by 2.000 pts.

SPANISH FOOTBALL - "LA LIGA" - ROUND 32/07 SATURDAY RESULTS

Two games played on Saturday in Round 32 of "La Liga".

The 1º game gives birth to the following words: boring, boring
& boring...Now if your an ATLETICO DE MADRID fan the
0 - 0 draw against REAL BETIS gives us these words: frustrating,
disappointing, heartbreaking ...etc.

If SFS had to mention names, AGUERO stood out for at least trying
,along with COSTINHA.
Atletico puts its Euro place in danger on the ladder, however ,
thanks to the loss of Recreativo tonight , it breathes another day.

Precisely, in Atletico´s favour , VALENCIA CF defeated
RECREATIVO 2-0, thanks to 2º goals in 4 minutes by JOAQUIN

- pictured above. This results puts Valencia back in the race for the
league title, although they must wait to see the results of their rivals

tomorrow.

Hi SFS readers & newcomers, quick "BRIEFS" on whats on
the news in SPANISH FOOTBALL this weekend.

Oporto player & Portugues star QUARESMA is in the news
again, not because his "romance" with ATLETICO DE MADRID
is about to finish in a good note, because INTER DE MILAN have
entered the picture & have placed him as a priority objective
for next season according to local paper "As".
















If Inter´s attempt is frustrated, the substitute would be Barça Portugues
International DECO.













ERIC ABIDAL has announced to French Press that he will
abandon OLYMPIQUE DE LYON at the end of the season.
Most "experts" place him in FC BARCELONA next season as
there seems to be an agreement with the player. The missing
piece is that both clubs need to negotiate the final points. The
signning & transfer is entering the final stages & an official
statement should happen soon, unless another club enters to

REAL MADRID has not forgotten CESC FABREGAS & dont

IS FC BARCELONA ATTEMPTING TO LURE KAKA?

KAKA has denied any agreement with REAL MADRID in
"Diario de Noticias" & that he is content at MILAN.
However, he also added that the future of a Footballer is
unpredictable. It depends on your interpretation, but this
comment leaves a "door open" which still gives us hope of
seeing him play in Spain next season.

Local media ( eg., "elmundo.es") now inform that FC
BARCELONA may get into the offers & try to lure the
Brazilian star over to "Camp Nou" for next season. Barça
may offer a straight "swap" with RONADINHO & may even
include SAMUEL ETO´O in the operation.
Although, if Kaka were to leave Milan, Real Madrid would be
in a better position, Milan does wish Ronaldinho & would love
to have Eto´o.

SFS considers Kaka to be the most complete footballer on the planet.
In SFS opinion he is the "best footballer" in the world at this moment.

UEFA CUP. SPANISH 1º LEG SEMI FINALS

An all out Spanish UEFA Cup final at Glasgow is one step
closer after tonights semi-final results

ESPANYOL defeated WERDER BREMEN 3-0 taking them
closer to the dream final berth. MOISES opened the scoring
followed by "The Rifle" PANDIANI - pictured - & towards
the end CORO added the last.

Fantastic results that sets them up nicely for the return leg.


















The 2º semi was between 2 Spanish teams & OSASUNA won
on the night 1-0 SEVILLE FC, thanks to a goal by inform
striker SOLDADO. The forward is currently on loan from
Real Madrid & this season Soldado has become a key player

for Osasuna. So much so, that Real Madrid will recall him for
next season















Osasuna outplayed tactically Seville Fc who are currently
2º on the league table. The return leg still gives Seville hope

of taking the tie & it also gives the advantage to Osasuna.
The other news of the game was the injury of the referee
(torn muscle) that partially suspended the game in the 2º

half.

published an exclusive. Argentine International & current
FC BARCELONA forward JAVIER SAVIOLA will be the 1º

Saviola finishes contract with Barça the 30th of June &
his curent club has´nt made an offer to renew. Obviously
the player has to think about his future & it seems Real Madrid

ARSENAL player CESC was in Madrid for the "Presliga 2007"
video press conference. Here he spoke about his future & let
us know that his stay in England is connected with the future
of his current coach Wenger, who finishes contract at the end
of the 2008 season.
He also added that he would like to comeback & play football in
Spain, which is enough to lift the "dreams" of Real Madrid & FC
Barcelona in thinking that one day he may play for them.















OSASUNA midfielder RAUL GARCIA is on the verge of being
the new signning of ATLETICO DE MADRID. The player wishes

TENNIS. RAFAEL NADAL DEFEATS FEDERER IN THE MONTE CARLO 2007 FINAL

Spaniard & Nº2 World ranked player RAFAEL NADAL won his
3º straight MONTE CARLO MASTERS title & maintains unbeaten
on clay in 67 straight games.
























Rafael won current World Nº1 ROGER FEDERER 6-4 6-4
to remain considered as the current "best clay court player in
the World". Federer is´nt able to dominate Nadal on clay & his
frustration showed in the 2º set were the unforced errors
& poor serve finally allowed Nadal to defeat the him.

MOTO GP. MIXED DAY FOR SPANIARDS IN ISTAMBUL

Mixed day for Spanish riders in the Turkish Moto GP.

The scare of the day came with the fall of DANI PEDROSA
who hurt himself in the torax area. He has been taken to
hospital for observation.
The winner in the GP catagory was Australian CASEY STONER
( pictured below) who dominated from the start. The surprise was
Italian & pole winner ROSSI who finished 10th after poor tyre election
& perfomance.
However the good news was Spaniard TONI ELIAS who finished 2º
after a good race & hard fought performance.

SPANISH FOOTBALL. SATURDAY ROUND 31/07 RESULTS & VIDEO OF SAVIO´S GOAL

Two games played tonight of Round 31 of the Spanish League.

The all important REAL MADRID - VALENCIA CF clash finished
in the former´s favour with a 2-1 victory that sank the latters
league title aspirations.
















Real started well & VAN NISTELROOY opened the scoreline
with a fantastic power shot. SFS will latter post the video, where
the beauty was the pre-goal set up.




















Valencia reacted & took control, & in the 51st min MORIENTES
scored to draw 1 - 1, after great individual play & pass from Joaquin.

Then coach Capello reacted and brought on Guti & Beckham ( taking
off Gago & Higuain) that gave new ideas & fresh air to Real.
Added to this, Valencia was unlucky to lose their inform player
Joaquin to injury & their forward line lost punch.




















It was precisely from a Beckham free kick that SERGIO RAMOS
headed the 2º & winning goal. Thus giving his team the 3 points &
keeping alive Real Madrid´s hopes of attempting to snatch the league
title.
Awaiting tomorrows results, Real are now just 2 points from current
leader FC Barcelona & this puts pressure on Barça to ensure a win
tomorrow.

The other match between REAL SOCIEDAD & ATLETICO DE
MADRID finished 2-0 & that allows the former to keep on fighting
to avoid going down to 2º Division & attempt to lift itself out of the
relegation zone.
Atletico again disappointed & let go another opportunity to secure

Most feature the important REAL MADRID - VALENCIA CF

The shockwaves are still expanding around the world after
millions watched the VIDEO of MESSI´s increible goal against
Getafe ( SEE VIDEO ON BELOW POSTS) all yesterday. He is

SPANISH CUP. DEPORTIVO 0 - SEVILLE FC 3.

The Football World, or at least Spanish Football, got back to
normality after yesterdays MESSI goal eclipsed all the news
in the last 24 hours ( VIDEO of which is on the below post ).

Tonight the 2º semi-final of the SPANISH CUP was played
between DEPORTIVO & SEVILLE FC, were the score of the
1º leg finished 0-3 in favour of Seville. This practically assures
them a place in the final, barring a miracle for Deportivo in the
2º leg return game.

















Seville took control from the start & looked very comfortable
throughout the whole match. So much so that by the 15mt they
were already 0- 2 ahead, thanks to goals from KANOUTE &
JESUS NAVAS. Then in the final moment of the game LUIS
FABIANO added salt to the wound with the 3rd & last goal
of the game

SPANISH CUP : FC BARCELONA 5 - GETAFE 2 . MESSI SCORES GOAL OF THE YEAR - SEE THE VIDEO. BETTER THAN MARADONA?

The 1º of the 2 semi-final games of the SPANISH CUP was
played tonight. FC BARCELONA defeated GETAFE 5 - 2 in
this 1º leg clash, & gave the Football World an incredible goal
by MESSI that will go down in history as one of the best. It
is being compared to the 1986 World Cup goal by Maradona.

Italian daily "Gazzetta dello Sport" publish that AC MILAN
owner, ex-Italian Prime Minister & multi-millionaire Silvio
Berlusconi is seriously thinking of putting on the table
100,000,000 Euros to get Brazilian & star FC BARCELONA
forward RONALDINHO over to Milan.

















Apparently, Berlusconi has mentioned to his political
mates (according to Gazzetta ) that he has 100M€ saved
for the operation. Added to this, it is said, that Ronaldinho
