UEFA CUP . SEVILLE FC & ESPANYOL GO INTO THE Q/FINALS

SEVILLE FC & ESPANYOL won their respective
matches & qualified for the Q/Finals of the UEFA CUP
along with OSASUNA who won last night.

The nerve breaker was the Shakhter.D - Seville game. The
Ukranian´s started brilliantly scoring first via MATUZALEM
& adding to the away goal advantage. Then in a great move
Seville drew with a goal by MARESCA, but the hope was
dimmed with another goal by the Ukranians thanks to ELANO.
The match was practically in Shakhter´s hands until a corner
was awarded to Seville in the 92m, in which the Spanish keeper
PALOP raced forward to participate up front & he scored
Seville´s 2º goal which forced extra-time. Absolutely amazing
as the below image shows Palop´s joy.

During the extra-time CHEVANTON scored Seville´s
3º & deciding goal, thus taking the Spaniards amazingly
in the Q/F rounds with a 2- 3 victory . An extraordinary
2º leg game, the type that one remembers ( & Palop will )
for a long time

The other game began with a 0-0 aggregate & after the 1º
half the "status quo" remained. However the 2º half was a
different match with DE LA PEÑA, TAMUDO, L. GARCIA
& PANDIANI all scoring to give the final victory to ESPANYOL
4-0 over MACCABI.

Good news overall for Spanish teams, with 3 clubs going into
the Q/Final rounds
