SPANISH NATIONAL TEAM LIST

Spanish National coach LUIS ARAGONES has announced his
list of players to face the transcendential game against
DENMARK
on March the 24th in Madrid & the equally important clash
against ICELAND on the 28th of March in Palma de Mallorca.
Two vital games that Spain needs to win if they are to
qualify for the upcoming European Nations Cup.

Here´s the full list:

Atlético de Madrid: Antonio López & Torres.
Arsenal: Cesc.
Barcelona: Iniesta, Xavi & Puyol.
Betis: Juanito.
Celta: Angel.
Deportivo: Capdevila.
Liverpool: Reina & Xabi Alonso.
Real Madrid: Casillas & Sergio Ramos.
Sevilla: Javi Navarro.
Valencia: Angulo, Morientes, Silva, Villa, Albelda
& Marchena.

The news was the non-appearence of RAUL.
¿Any thoughts SFS readers on this observation?

Y polivalentes…

¿Y Arteta (Everton) y Tamudo?

Hola Adrian,
Good to see you here.
Questions that most Spanish fans are talking about with their cafe in the numerous bares & terrazas of the country. Hard to reply, except that we have a coach that believes that these men will do the job.
We many differ in opinion but lets hope that Spain can pull off what is a very difficult task; qualify for the Euro Cup.
Hope to see you again in SFS
Cheers

Hi again,
I know that every Spaniard is a potential National coach, but the problem here is that this one lost his touch some time ago. Exactly during the qualifying games for the World Cup (Spain played the repesca round)
Another example: If Getafe is the best deffensive team of the First Division how come there are no Getafe players in the list? And he calls Celta´s Angel...
I honestly believe that his major problem is that he's Atletico de Madrid 100%. And this implies a losing character 100%. I´m sure you'll appreciate my point.

Hi Adrian
I appreciate your point, its your free speech right, however, I dont see the Atletico Madrid connection - unless you are showing your biased ( which is again your democratic right which SFS encourages always). Its true historically that Atletico have a "cross to bear", that Luis Aragones is connected to the club as player / coach.Perhaps this all differentiates them from others clubs. Is that good or bad ?...leave others to judge & the issue here is the national side not Atletico, independently if Mr Aragones is its coach.

Seeing that you are debating sort of person that touches all points , I recommend you visit an excellent site elitefootballtalk.blogspot.com. Its philosophy is pure football debate. Although its English football based , their writers are well documented & you can show them your know it all skills. Guarentee it will be stimulating.

Hope to see you back & participate in other posts, I am sure you will at least stimulate others to comment.

Thanking you again & Cheers

I insist on the Atletico de Madrid idea/concept. It´s always been a vital force behind his choices. How come Pernia was never called for the national team? But as soon as he signed for Atletico de Madrid he was named (at the last possible minute) for the list ¡to play the World Cup! For the same position as his team mate Antonio Lopez. This decision alone served to justify Atletico´s signing of Pernia. How come a mediocre defense, as Atletico´s 05/06 season, was the one that most players contributed to the national team that played the World Cup? How come Reina (great goalie, but not one of the 3 best Spanish goalkeepers)) is always selected? Easy: Because Luis and his father are friends and played together at Atletico de Madrid. And I'll go a little bit further: Betis is his other team. That´s why he always calls Betis' players and is reluctant to Sevilla´s players. How come only one player from Sevilla (last year's UEFA Cup winners)has played for the Nationa Team?...
In other words: He is not qualified anymore for the job. If he ever was, which is also questionable, since his track record as a coach is not as impressive as of others Spaniards.
Thanks for your blog recommendation

Well, I admit to being a "rookie" when it comes to all things football but, I had a few questions about the NT announcement - 1. Is this match televised or online somewhere? 2. Atletico de Madrid -Torres?? is that Fernando Torres of LFC ????....3. What ever happen to the 'ban from Euro 08' is that still possible?....Ignorance is not bliss!!!
Pls,Help if possible.
