SPANISH FOOTBALL - "LA LIGA" - SUNDAY ROUND 27 06/07 RESULTS

Not so full of goals as yesterdays 4 games , with a lot of
draws this Sunday, however football is football & we are
entering the stage were every point is welcomed &

valuable.

REAL MADRID defeated GINMASTIC 2-0 at home with
goals from ROBINHO ( 55m) & an o.g by David Garcia
( or RAUL depending from the angle).

Ginmastic went down to 10 men in the 1º half & Real Madrid
were playing terribly, not the sort of stuff to give fans confidence
in their strategy to win all their home games in order to give them
a chance at the title.
However, Robinho lifted his side in the 2 half & scored, plus
was the "spirit" of the 2º goal. The objective, in true Capello style,

was achieved, 3 points which takes them back up to 3º place on the
ladder. But their play does´nt convience SFS at all!

Speaking of two teams needing points, VILLAREAL drew with
2º last qualified team REAL SOCIEDAD 1- 1. Brazilian SAVIO
scored for the visitors only to have JOSICO ( above) save his side
with a goal in the 57m.

BARRAGAN
( above ) scored his teams only goal in
DEPORTIVO´s 1- 0 victory over GETAFE

Shocking game by ATLETICO DE MADRID away to
REAL ZARAGOZA who won 1- 0 thanks to a goal by
DIEGO
MILITO
( above). It was vital for Atletico to grab the 3 points
to set them on the road to Europe ( Champions) next season.
However the team is lacking midfield creating players & up
front they are completely lost. Torres is out of all sorts , Galleti
tries hard & Aguero attempts to take the whole team burden on
his young shoulders . Atletico was extremely disappointing!

ESPANYOL & LEVANTE drew 1- 1 .

Important victory for SEVILLE FC 2-0 over CELTA DE VIGO.
The 3 points keeps them up there with Fc Barcelona in the title
race.
KANOUTE ( above) got his team on the goal sheet with the 1º
goal via a penalty & keeps him ahead of all in the Top goal scorer
title - "El Pichichi" with 19 goals. In the 92m Russian KERZHAKOV
scored the final goal for his team.

RESULTS & SCORERS - Round 27
Valencia 0 - Racing 2 (Munitis;Oriol)
Recreativo 0 - Fc Barcelona 4 (Eto´o 2; Zambrotta; Messi)
Mallorca 2 ( Pereyra) - Betis 0

I'm very worried about Real after watching them yesterday, they had nothing going forward untill Robinho came on and took away their fear. Granted certain key players had a bad game, but that is always going to happen, it shouldn't prevent the team from scoring against 10 men. They are now one of the few teams I know who play better away than at home. I have to question whether the fans are the worst enemy of Real. One the one hand 80 million has been spent with little to show for it and the fans are justified to expect more. On the other hand, when I see that the fan's attitude is spoiling their game so much I have to wonder whether the fans are part of the problem.
For me it all started turning bad when Capello seemed to lose the confidence of the players with his position on Cassano and Beckham. Calderon and his big mouth has not helped either.
Clearly, this is capable team, that have great potential for the future as long as they are given some time to develop. Arguably there are still a few bad attitudes in the side that are in danger of messing up the minds of the younger players; namely Guti, Emerson, Canavaro. They need to go, they do not care enough for me. Also, I think Raul must take part of the responsibility for the problems since he is the captain who sets the tone - he seems to play as an individual with the right attitude, but I must question his leadership skills going through this crisis.

Thanks Evo,
Excellent analysis & SFS is richer for it.
I agree , hopefully a Real fan will pop in & add his comments. Im Atletico & wouldnt wish to "bias" the debate
Cheers

Do you think that F.Torres will goto ManU - it seemed to be a sealed deal last season.
