SPANISH FOOTBALL. THE GODDESS OF JUSTICE IS CLUBBED & UNARMED

The Spanish Football authorities have proclaimed the following
sanctions for REAL BETIS ( & SEVILLE FC) , after the "bottle
incident" that left Seville FC coach floored when his team scored
the 1º goal of the 2º leg Spanish Cup match between both clubs.

THE RULING
:

The suspended match will be played on the 20th of March at the
neutral ground of Getafe (Madrid). The Real Betis club will have
its ground shut for 3 matches (no crowd). Both Presidents
(Lopera & Nido) will be investigated & will be possibly fined.
No economic sanctions for the clubs.
THATS IT!?

SFS thinks the sanctions are outragously poor. Does someone
have to die before real justice is done? Is this the image that
the "Best Football League in the World" wishes to promote?

SFS is NOT anti-Betis, nor is it anti- Seville. SFS is pro- fair play,
pro-Football, pro-justice & anti-violence. SFS has many readers
from USA, UK, China, Japan & around the world & wishes to
make it clear that in no way is this an indication of ALL the
Spanish Football scene. We cannot avoid the "few" animals acting
as they do, but the decisions of our authorities does not help set

the example, nor clean our damaged image Internationally.
SFS is disappointed with this "soft" punishment.

If this incident would have been between "poor" clubs? SFS

would bet that sanctions would have been more harsh.
What if coach Juande would have been killed? Do we have
to wait until this occurs to place to necessary sanctions?

Lets not forget that apart of the "bottle incident" there was
pre - game violence outside the stadium, "kill Juande"
chants from the crowd & many many thrown objects. Hate
was in the air & both Presidents helped directly to brew the

malignant atmosphere.

Sad day for Spanish Football, a poor International image
& another example of a weak & politically interested Spanish
Football Authority.

I 100% agree with you, Striker. This is unbelievably poor. What happened to Juande Ramos is sickening and it's ridiculous that it ever got to that, much less when virtually unpunished.

This game is about joy and passion, about your club and your country, but not about hating your rivals; there's a difference between competition and hatred. I understand that Betis and Sevilla are rivals and I understand there is animosity between them, but I do NOT understand how that becomes a fight. It happens here in the United States too (just today a friend of mine told me she was threatened at a baseball game last year for being a fan of the opposing team), but it's unacceptable everywhere. FIFA and the LFP need to come down HARD on Betis and Zaragoza for their fans. I'm sorry, it's not the good people of Spain who do this, of whom there are undoubtedly millions, but it is some of the fans and their clubs need to be punished so that they do not act this way, no matter who the opponent is.

I think the tie should be handed to Sevilla. End of story. Sevilla advanced in the Copa and Betis is banned from it next year. That's what I'd like to see happen.
