SPAIN 1 - ICELAND 0: CLOSE CALL.

It was the type of night Gene Kelly would have loved, rain
& more rain, that eased & eventually stopped in the 2º half.
The water played its part, it was sluggish, with hard to control
the ball conditions.

The whole game was dominanted by Spain with a 67% vs 33% ball
possesion percentage. However , Iceland put all its men in defence
& awaited the counter- attack opportunity.
The Iceland goalkeeper & defence stopped the waves of attacks,
post hitting & close calls until the 81st minute when INIESTA
scored for Spain 1-0 , from a great DAVID VILLA short pass

Apart from Iniesta ( above) & Villa, the other players to
mention were SILVA, XAVI, RAMOS, PUYOL &
ALBELDA.
Tough match, a very close call & normal game for Spain.
However, the objective has been reached & Spain stays alive
to keeping on fighting for a place in next years Euro Cup.
Now thats the good news.
