REAL MADRID CF - UNDER PRESSURE & IN "DEEP SHIT"

The weekend loss to Deportivo ( not to mention Recreativo
in the previous game) has openned up the "Pandora Box"

within the club. Whats happenning ? Why is the team playing
so badly? What are the reasons?

With this in mind & to attempt to cut the appearing "CRISIS"

by the roots, an emergency reunion was held yesterday with
President Calderon, Football Director Mijatovic & Coach Capello
to talk frankly & find solutions before its too
late.

Sporting paper "AS" has
leaked reported info of
what was talked & the
decisions that will need
to be taken to "solve"

the "problems". Some
are eye openning &
its worth a further
read.
Its interesting for the
"outside Spain" reader
who can get a glimpse
inside a complex dressing

room, a huge & difficult
club & the pressure that
these guys are continually

submitted. Sure they earn
the money to "stand the

pressure", but its under pressure when the worst of our human nature
takes the front seat in all our actions.

The summary is basically that there is a lack of compromise &
professionality from key players that are causing frictions within the
team, & thus affecting the teams mentality. Yesterday´s meeting
brought out names & "AS" gives a run down of who & why:

RONALDO - lack of compromise, lack of professionality which is

affecting the younger players Marcelo & Robinho who hail him.
Coach advice - Sell him asap, if this month , great!

ROBINHO - substituted against Deportivo, for following
Ronaldo´s
examples, & arriving to train "drunk" after
partying hard all night ( according to news leaked by
Cadena Ser)

BECKHAM - Coach advise- dont renew his contract. He
is a 3 choice & will not find a spot in the future.

CASSANO - Sell him asap.

EMERSON & CANNAVARO - unexplained lack of form.
Unrecognized from past performances.

GUTI - blames the renewed contarct until 2010 as a reason for
drop in form & "lack of compromise".

RAUL - needs to be rested & is very tired. Will sit on the bench to
"recover" strenght.

SALGADO - has disappointed Capello & Ramos will take
his place on the right defensive wing.

In a nutshell, get rid of Ronaldo, Cassano, Beckham & bench
time for Emerson, Cannavaro, Raul, Salgado & Guti. This
should allow room & playing time for Gago, Higuain, Marcelo,
Reyes & Diarra

How does a dressing room take the above analisis?

We are in for some stormy weeks ahead for Real Madrid. Players
will attempt to discredit Capello´s authority & begin a "marketing
campaign" to place the blame on the coach. This is not the Real
Madrid - "best team in the world" - image that should be exhibited.
A real clash of personalities is looming & this will test to see if
Pedja Mijatovic ( Football Director) has what it takes to solve things
& place President Calderon under enormous pressure to take
definitive actions. Resignations & firing maybe be on the cards if results
continue to be bad. Stay tuned.

Lastly, what about Capello? Some say he has lost the dressing
room, that his constant changes are confusing players & his comments
outside the field causing infield problems. Will his tactics & above
strategy work?

Either way, Real Madrid are currently in "Deep Shit", &as always
only good results will clean the "stinky"air currently being breathed
within the club.

Take everything you read in the Spanish sports press (and all sports press for that mater) with a large grain of salt. As mayhave some contcts with the management and the 'leaks' are intended to scare some of the players into complying with Capello with threats of wholesale chang; I'll believe it when I see it.

On the other hand Marca, who obviously don't have an insider in the management, are making use of their player 'contacts' to start spreading rumours about Capello's weakness, inconsistencies and lack of respect among the players, in order to destabilise him (and presumably to protect their sources in the dressing room).

It's hard to know what the truth is, but, as you say, there are troubled times ahead, and it will be interesting to see how Real get through them. I really believe that they should have started with a clean slate and made this a transitional year, rather than aim for immediate results, but the dodginess of the presidential election results put paid to any notion of that happening.

I think they are not resolving key problem, which lies in the mid-field. The team is missing play maker like Zidane. Till now Guti is very fragile and weak. I don't know why instead of resolving the midfield issue, they are talking about these nonsense.

Mourinho to replace Capello at the end of the season? That's the latest rumor!
