REAL MADRID - IS THE PROBLEM BAD MANAGEMENT?

Real Madrid & its "crisis" are still all over the Spanish
& World Sports media today. Its rivals must be happy
to see the "old" enemy in such "dire straits", not to mention
the possiblity of the players market receiving such names
as Cassano, Ronaldo, Beckham, Robinho or Diarra.
The club directives & the coach say the reason is a lack of
commitment & profesionality by key players that are setting
a bad example to the younger stars. They simply don´t sweat
the shirt & prefer to dance the "night away" in other "training"
grounds.

But what if the problem is
management?
In any business school it is
tought that an entity needs
a mission, a clear path of
objectives & goals to set
everyone´s minds. Good
spending on valuable future
assets, creation of team spirit,
work & lastly a comfortable
work environment.

It seems the club has´nt any of the above conditions at this
moment.
Here are some observations:
. An elected President who has´nt come up with his election
promises: Cesc & Kaka. Plus his victory is being questionned
in court at this moment.
. Pedja Mijatovic - Football Director - no previous experience
in his position. Not to mention bad management & unfortunate
words to media
. Coach that changes strategy & line ups - causing player confusion.

. 100M€ spent in signnings - Cannavaro ( playing badly), Diarra
(not playing), Emerson ( not fitting in & wishing to leave), Reyes
( not playing ), Gago/Higuain very young players & unproven for
in European Football.
. Players prices overvalued according to market.

. David Beckham - a highly professional player who has done
everything correctly for the club & nows finds that his future
is mixed in rumour & gossip in a totally unprofessional way

by his superiors. Does he deserve this treatment.
. Is Beckham a purely marketing instrument? What about
the Football element?

. Lastly the Baptista case. Signned as the "next big thing" in
2005/06. After an average season is swapped for Arsenal´s
Reyes ( supposingly better). Yesterday Baptista scored 4 goals
in Arsenal´s 3-6 victory over Liverpool. Check the video below.

SFS does´nt have all the answers. There is a lot of "shit" flying
around at the moment, with everyone throwing the blame on
everyone else. Its a picture not of Real´s standard & prestige.
Who & Where are the problems coming from?

The overall management of Real as a club does seem very poor.

They are certainly paying too much for players.

Like you say Mijatovic has no experience and seems very bad at his job, causing more problems than anything else.
He seems to enjoy the limelight a little too much.

Capello is a very good manager who has had success everywhere he has been, including his previous spell at Real.
I don't beleive you could get a much better manager.
However, I think he is being badly let down by key players and a board who interfere too often and don't have the guts to get rid of those big stars who are underperforming.

It seems a total overhaul of the club is needed.
