advantage.
With Atletico practically eliminated, SERGIO AGUERO scored in the
very last minute to take it all into extra time. After 30mins it
remained 1-1 on aggregate & they went to penalties. Here Atletico
manage to win & qualify for the next round winning
the penalties 2 -4.
In Europe, it was UEFA CUP night & ESPANYOL won 1-0 against
AUSTRIA VIENNA thus finishing top place in their Group F.
PANDIANI - pictured - scored the winning goal for Espanyol.
The other Spanish team in action was CELTA DE VIGO who drew
away to PALERMO with the final score being 1-1. This draw gave
Celta the qualification for the next round placing them 2º in their
Group H. Scorers for Palermo & Celta were TEDESCO & BAIANO
