the idea is to secure
the player for the
2007/2008 season.
They see him as the
substitute for TORRES,
which makes you wonder -
will they sell Torres? SFS believes that if Atletico dont win a title this
year, the "THE KID" will leave.
The price for Palacios is around 15M€, which no doubt will be more.

Maybe the manager and the federation should chose players who actually will be proud to play for their country? Even the use of lower league players who would use the experience as a great honour and play "out of their skin" to provide a solid side. Just because the players are highly paid does not mean they have the motivation to really shine.

Palacio is a hard-working striker with lots of pace. He's hardly a replacement for Torres though.
