The SPANISH NATIONAL TEAM played a 0 - 0 draw at
ICELAND in a physical & less than exciting match.

The Spanish side come out with Luis Garcia & goalkeeper
Reina, ahead of the press prognostics. It was a Keepers night,
as for Reina, as with Arason, who was in fine form.

Spain showed its lack of homeland league match play, & the
lack of intensity - it was a friendly - illustrated a less than
conviencing performance.
The 2º half saw a much more attacking Spain with Reyes, Iniesta
A.Lopez & Joaquin, & chances appeared, only to be stopped by
the local keeper & the ordered defence.
But its normal at this time of the year & at least Spain went away
with a 0 - 0 draw

Spanish captain RAUL played his 100th game & frankly
had a very quiet game

Good match by Iceland they deserved the result, as reward for
their strenght, order & concentration.
Spain has started its new road towards the 2008 Euro Cup a
bit stiff, but will improve as its league kicks off the 26th of
August. They can only improve.
