The WORLD CUP begins now! SPAIN which finished in 1º place of
Group H will now meet FRANCE who finished 2º in its group.
They will meet head to head next Tuesday at 21.00 (Sp.Time) with the
winner going onto the 1/4 finals.
This is a true test of fire for Spain, as they meet a formitable rival, who
isn´t playing well, but is capable of raising itself precisely in this match.
You can never discount Henry, Viera, Zidane , Trezaguet & co., who can
spark a momentary burst of magic & shatter the opposition dreams. There
exists mutual respect between both teams, but France has traditionally
been a thorn on the Spanish side, that Spain wishes to finally remove next
Tuesday.
Spanish Football & Sports would kindly like to ask its readers for their
opinion:
¿Which team do you think will win?
¿Should Zidane comeback into the French side?
¿Who should start for Spain? ¿Raul? ¿Cesc?
Pls leave your comments.

France!
Spain, with Cesc.
Spain and France sets up a rekindling of the Euro2000 quarter-final. France have strength and good scoring talent but only materialised in these categories against Togo, less of an imposing side out of the three they met. Spain is different, defensively both sides are equal, middle of the park will be a battle of strength and height of France against guile and quick thinking passing from Spain. Upfront Spain edge the French, while Henry and Trezeguet do have good form, they do not combine together regularly so I expect plenty of support from Malouda and Ribery, Vieira taking steps forward too. With Spain, they will need tenacity and quick movement to un ravel Thuram and Gallas, and Fance showed they are prepared to get back in numbers rapidly. It's sounding like a good match that could rival Argentina v Mexico, arguably the best match so far.
RedsMan.
Thanks Redsman:
True that its going to be a great match. Clash of titans on some equal terms. Difficult to predict, my heart sways towards Spain...its normal.
Cheers
I hope for a Spain win. They look to be in good form and deserve to advance. France, on the other hand, have disappointed and look to be in a bit of a mess since the onset (minus their victory over Togo).
Who should start? Tough question!
It's certainly the clash of the titans... Very difficult to predict. If I gauge according to current form, Spain has a real huge advanatage!
Zidane is always a mastermind, and can prove the difference between the two sides and therefore I want him to come back. France are, to date, a very weak attacking team so it gives another reason for Zizou to show up.
Who to start for Spain? Possibly a wonderful headache for Aragones as there are lots of Spainish players on form. I'll like to see Torres, Raul and Villa form a 3-man attacking partnership - a risk but a profitable one if successful. Joaquin shoudn't be sitting on the bench, as his performance against Saudi has proved the point. With one less man in midfield, Joaquin is able to run tirelessly around the middle of the park, and could be the equivalent of Zidane for Spain.
i think the comments of the spanish press are totally disgraceful towards ZZ. Too self assured of their victory, boastful, and scandalously arrogant. They wanted to send ZZ To retirement, but with his scoring the 3rd goal, he sent the whole team back home. But we should be indulgent with the players: still babies who still need to suck milk in thier mothers' breasts. Or may be this experience will teach them to be more humble in the future, like ZZ has always been.
