ROBERTO CARLOS
From Brazil, Roberto Carlos has given an interview to Sp radio
Marca, where he admits an offer from Chelsea for next season.
With this on the table, he has called Real Madrid to extend his
current contract & to equal the offer. Nice one Carlos, I think you´ve
made it easy for Real to let you go.
Doubt Real will better , & wish to find an exit door for Carlos.
How better than this way, good luck at Chelsea.
Real are looking at 3 Chelsea players at the moment:
Del Horno,Carvalho & Robben. Also on their list is Ashely
Cole from Arsenal, a player that they are very very keen on.
THIERRY HENRY
According the English daily "The Sun" , Henry has renewed his
contract with Arsenal for the next 4 years. If this is true, it
would be a great disappiontment for Barcelona FC, were talks
had advanced nicely & the deal just needed his ok.
Lets wait & see if its confirmed, as "The Sun" is not your
"best source" of reliable information.
NEWS FLASH...just read "El Pais" Sp Nº1 daily, they too confirm
the news, with Henry comments. Great news for Arsenal, great
lost opportunity for "La Liga"!
DANIEL ALVES
It´s no secret that this Brazilian has lifted his "football appeal"
within European Football Clubs.
There are 2 well known offers on the table, one is from LIVERPOOL
& the other from BARCELONA FC, which has a preferencial
buying option over the player.
I feel that Alves will end up at Barça, but having said this, does
Barça really need to cover that position?
NIHAT
The Turkish International & ex RealSociedad forward, NIHAT has
signed a 5 year deal for
VILLAREAL .
Nice deal in my opinion, great player
& will give them "striker savvy" up
front. Nihat recognizes there is plenty
of competition for a place, but this
is good , as it keeps everyone on its
toes.
The other sounded signing for
Villareal is Zaragoza player
Cani.
Villareal wishes to make itself stronger
& more competitive, & don´t be surprised
to hear of more interesting signings
JAVIER AGUIRRE
Osasuna´s Mexican coach Javier Aguirre has set the bases with
Atletico de Madrid to coach them
for next season:
Yesterday he meet with Atletico
directives, were they planned
the upcoming season. Aguirre
will soon sign & his first decision
has been to say NO to the Intertoto
competition & pre-season overseas
exhibition matches (China in this
case)
He wishes Atletico players to fully
concentrate on the pre-season &
have a real commitment with the
club
NENE
Alves player the Brazilian , Anderson Luiz de Carvalho ( aka Nene)
has an offer to leave , the newly relegated to 2 Division club, for
DEPORTIVO DE CORUÑA.
So as is normal around this time, there will be many more rumours,
signings & movements. The upcoming Real Madrid Presidential
elections & the World Cup are halting a bit the signing frenzy, but
be assured that it will heat up before the new 2006/07 season

Anyway, I think Alves would probably still be better than Oleguer or Belleti at rightback for Barça.

Hi Striker, great post as normal.
I was so impressed by Alves when watching the UEFA Cup final. For me, his adventurous style of game is more suited to Barcelona than Liverpool.
I also think its a shame that Sevilla did not qualify for the Champs league- their win over Boro was excellent to watch, plus I was very impressed with their attacking style of team football as they achieved their amazing first half comeback against Madrid on Tuesday.
