Back from a wonderful holiday in Gijón
(Asturias) - North of Spain, were I spent
time with my family & friends. Good
weather , great food & excellent
company.
But back to "La Liga" & the round up
of this weekends matches. First match played
was on Good Friday were Barcelona won 1-0
Villareal thanks to a great goal by Samuel Eto´o. Remember that
both have mid week European Cup clashes in semi finals. More as
dates near.
Other highlights include At. Madrids victory
over At.Bilbao thanks to a header ( goal )
from "The Kid" Fernando Torres . Finally it
seems that Atletico is getting its act together
& attempt to make the final run of the season
a success in order to to climb the
ladder & get into the Euro zone. Let´s hope
they continue on the winning path.
Other Madrid side Real only managed a 1-1
away draw with Getafe. Real Madrid get
overtaken by Valencia who is now 2º & Osasuna is 4º a point
away. Complicated end to the season it seems for Real Madrid.
The big scoring match was between
Valencia & Spanish Cup winners Espanyol
which ended 4-0 . It seems the Cup winning
celebrations relaxed Espanyol & allowed
Valencia to display all its fire power. Good
to see Argentine International defender
Ayala ( pictured ) back & score a gol
for his team. This should also bring a smile
back to the Argentine coach as Ayala is an
important player forthem specially with
the World Cup finals around the corner
So here is a full roundup of the final scores:
Deportivo 0 - Seville 0
R.Sociedad 1 - Racing Santander 0 ( Mark Gonzalez )
