Spanish Football LIGA season 2014-2015 kicked off tonight with 4 matches of Round 1. The other games are scheduled for tomorrow & Monday night. Below is a brief summary of the games played today along with the final results & goalscorers,

Spanish Football Liga 2014 - 2015

Malaga won 1 - 0 Athletic Club Bilbao in controversial circumstances that caused the visitors to leave very angry especially with the referee decisions. The winning goal came in the 35th min when Luis Alberto manage to fix his initial error after missing a penalty.

Intense match that had 2 red cards - to Malaga - & a disallowed goal from Bilbao goalkeeper - yes goalie - in the 94th min after Iraizoz desperately went looking for a late equalizing opportunity. Replays indicate that the goal may have been OK, thus the huge fuss post match. 


Spanish Football Liga 2014 - 2015

Granada won 2 - 1 promoted Club Deportivo A Coruña. The visitors got ahead first in the 20th min from Cavaleiro, but Granada pulled back the equalizer in the 55th min from Rochina,  & the winner came in the 74th min from Babin

Both Sevilla FC & Valencia CF have big hopes & objectives this new season after both Clubs have experienced big chances with news players, & in the case of Valencia, a new foreign owner in Peter Lim. The final result was a 1 - 1 draw & Valencia CF down to ten men after De Paul was sent off after being on the field 30 seconds in the 67th min.

The opener came in the 44th min when Aleix Vidal put Sevilla ahead, & Valencia CF equalized in the 88th min from Orban

Almeria hosted RCD Espanyol & in the 60th min stadium lights went out. Before this Almeria was leading 1 - 0 with goal from Soriano in the 52nd min. After some quick repairs the lights came back with a last second of the match surprise, a Sergio Garcia equalizer in the 95th min that "took out the Almeria lights out, again. Final score Almeria 1 - RCD Espanyol 1.
