CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP C D RESULTS | MANCHESTER UNITED 1 VALENCIA CF 1 - FC BARCELONA 2 RUBIN KAZIN 0

Two Spanish Clubs participated in their respective Champions League Group matches with relative good results. Both teams assured their presence in the next phase of the competition & will be in the draw on the 17th of December at Lyon (France) to match up the teams for the knock-out home & away legs/stages.

VALENCIA CF was looking for a victory in their Group C match against MANCHESTER UNITED to finish on Top of the ladder & face a "lesser" team from another Group in the December draw. It did not happen as the final result was a 1 - 1 draw & Manchester United finished on Top of the Group instead.

Valencia got off to a good start & scored via PABLO HERNANDEZ in the 32nd min, but Manchester were not shaken & got back via ANDERSON in the 62nd min after Valencia goalie Guaita lost a ball & the Manchester player picked up the crumbs. Valencia should be relatively content with their performance.

FC Barcelona 

FC BARCELONA hosted the "tough nut" RUBIN KAZIN in their Group D match. Barça had The Top Group spot "in the bag" but Kazin needed a win to attempt to grab the 2º place. Barça lined up with the following side:

Pinto; Adriano, Piqué, Fontás, Maxwell; Mascherano, Thiago, Busquets; Jeffren, Bojan & Jonathan

a team full of substitutes & youngsters that managed to win 2 - 0.

Kazin held firm & gave Barça a run for their money until the 2º half when the goals for Barça came via young FONTAS in the 50th min & VICTOR VAZQUEZ in the 81st min. Messi came on in the 62nd min for Jonathan & tipped the balance totally Barça´s way. Great match from barça player Mascherano & Thiago, along with the rest of the youngsters.

The only bad news is the injury to Barça players Bojan & Jeffren who came off after the 1ºst half.
