SPANISH FOOTBALL - SOCCER | SPANISH LEAGUE - LIGA | ROUND 7 SUNDAY GAMES RESULTS

SPANISH FOOTBALL continued today with more Round 7 action of the SPANISH LEAGUE - LIGA with some relative low scoring but intense games.

Fernando Llorente scored against Real Zaragoza

ATHLETIC DE BILBAO put REAL ZARAGOZA deeper into their particular "crisis" & cemented them another week in the last place of the Spanish Liga table after losing 2-1.

Bilbao dominated the match outright doing the damage early with goals from
IRAOLA in the 11th min & the second from the man in form FERNANDO LLORENTE in the 23rd min. Bilbao had a string of more goal opportunities that did not get converted & when it did happen was disallowed. Real Zaragoza managed a 93rd min goal from BRAULIO that just masked a terrible game from them.

RCD Espanyol goalkeeper Kameni in action against Mallorca

MALLORCA
could not take advantage when RCD ESPANYOL lost Osvaldo in the 35th min to a red card & even lost 0-1 to a LUIS GARCIA goal in the 31st min. Espanyol under the circumstances & with a man down did the only logical action possible: defend with tooth & nail & it paid off for them.

Caicedo fighting for the ball against Real Sociedad

Intense match between LEVANTE & REAL SOCIEDAD with the former winning 2-1. DE HORNO put Levante ahead in the 59th min followed by a second via CAICEDO in the 65th min. Real Sociedad then attempted to get back & nearly did with a goal from SARPONG in the 80th min, but Levante managed to stop the attempted comeback.

Almeria vs Racing

RACING DE SANTANDER
won by the minimum REAL ALMERIA 1- 0 thanks to a MUNITIS 32nd min goal. Plenty of more chances in end to end stuff that turned out to be less effective than it all appeared.

Deportivo - Osasuna in action

Two teams in deep troubles, DEPORTIVO A CORUÑA & OSASUNA, finished in a surprising 0-0 draw. There was chances galour all game for both teams, especially for Deportivo after Osasuna lost Camuñas around the 30th min to a Red Card.

From this moment onwards, the protagonist was Osasuna goalkeeper RICARDO who stopped everything shot at him from Deportivo who were in total control. However, the home team - Deportivo - disappointed & they showed their weakness & why they are having a nightmare start via their lack of goal converting abilities; even against a team with only 10 men.

Sporting de Gijon scores against Sevilla FC

Surprise tonight with REAL SPORTING DE GIJON defeating SEVILLA FC 2 - 0. Two goals that had beauty written all over them with the first coming in the 6th min via SANGOY & the second a "heel- goal" from DIEGO CASTRO in the 51st min that brought the stadium down.

Sevilla FC attempted to make a comeback but with so much movement one-way - all forward & goal directed - Sporting nearly caught Sevilla out defensively. Good game from Sporting & Sevilla FC still with "difficulties" that have appeared this season.
