Rumours & speculations are hot in England as LIVERPOOL FC begins to pay for their disastrous season & financial problems with the real possibility of Spanish Manager/ Coach RAFAEL BENITEZ going over to JUVENTUS next season. The English Club will not be in Champions League next season & have huge financial problems that will probably force them to sell the “family jewels”. While Benitez tussles with Liverpool FC owners & Juventus, the latter for is desired control of everything related to the Sporting area, the big news is FERNANDO TORRES.
MANCHESTER CITY is prepared to give Liverpool FC a cool 70M€ that will give the Club the much needed financial oxygen. Plus CHELSEA FC has entered the picture as they look for someone to play with (& substitute) Drogba & convert into their new star. However, before we all get excited, the player will have a say in all this & I have the sneaking feeling that if Liverpool FC is forced to sell its prime asset Torres may not wish to go to Manchester City nor Chelsea, although the latter is more attractive. The reasons are:
1. Manchester City does not guarantee Torres success. They have been pumping money into the Club the last couple of years & they are still not up to the level expected
2. Torres is a loyal man & true to his "colors". He has a grand affection towards Liverpool FC & may feel that he owes them something in return, thus he could very well reject the Man. City & Chelsea FC offers.
3. With Benitez out of Liverpool, Torres may decide to return to Spain, & here is the news.
FC BARCELONA may also enter the picture as the "Spanish" alternative. Real Madrid is eliminated from the equation because Fernando Torres himself said that he would never play at the Club (although image Benitez the new Real Madrid Coach next season). Atletico de Madrid has not the money or the guarantee to give Torres the much desired & deserved Football titles. This leaves FC Barcelona as the "only" possibility as we already know that the Club made manoeuvres in the past to attempt to lure the player who in turn was “receptive”.
But Barcelona has it´s own technical obstacles:
1. The money. Can they compete with the massive Manchester City offer? They may be able but already have funds allocated to another star player
2. David Villa has a supposed “verbal” pact with FC Barcelona & they in turn have a verbal pact with Valencia CF to the sound of 40M€. Big investment!
3. Zlatan Ibrahimovic. What about this signing? The Club invested 70M€ (Eto´o included) & there can only be one NÂș9. How will the Swede react to see Villa & Torres arrive?
Said all this, FC Barcelona may see under the new President – elections soon with Sandro Rosell favourite – the vialblity of the Real Madrid model of business where big signings became "economical" as they lead to huge returns in publicity, sponsorship & marketing, that in the case of Torres , would crack wide open the Asian market where Fernando Torres is a Star.
Lots of questions, lots of unknowns, plenty of “bar rumours” & talk that will keep us all entertained this coming summer. What is certain is that Fernando Torres will now focus on the World Cup, the Spanish National Football Team & a full recovery from his knee injury before making such a big professional decision. Plus, as with all great moves & deals in Football, Fernando will also wish to wait his time to see if:
1. Manager / Coach Rafael Benitez does finally leave Liverpool FC for Juventus
2. Juventus FC asks & offers Torres to join Benitez under favourable conditions.
3. Benetiz goes to Real Madrid ????
4. Manchester City & Chelsea FC present a serious 2010-2011 project & can guarantee titles
5. FC Barcelona finally does decide to make a serious & competitive offer with guarantees of playing regularly, in his position & without causing problems with other already there players.
Stay tuned, as anything can happen as can nothing will occur!

Sell Ibra to Man City and buy Nando for Barca...Frontline of Villa, Nando, and Messi!...or at least that is what I would do in FIFA 2010 :)
Back to reality, I just hope Torres, Andres, Xavi, and Cesc are healthy and ready for South Africa
It's going to be an interesting summer for sure! Will or wont the club be sold, I for one hope Torres is still there come the start of next season, along with some new quality faces :)
