Yesterday I posted here the rumour that FC Barcelona, along with Manchester City & Chelsea FC, were planning to pounce onto Liverpool FC & lure away its prize jewel: FERNANDO TORRES.
Today English paper "The Daily Mail" publish that CHELSEA FC has taken the initiative & has already offered a staggering 77M€ (70M GBP) in a bid to sign the Spanish International for next season. This has clearly opened a "war" with Manchester City who were willing to fork out of their pocket 70M€.My post yesterday followed the line that I doubt Torres will accept a Man City offer & that returning to Spain (FC Barcelona) may be the more viable option IF he was forced to leave Liverpool Fc due to the terrible financial situation - Coach Benitez may also leave. However, Chelsea FC is a different story, Fernando Torres may look favourably at moving to London because Chelsea can guarantee titles & a continued European presence.
In all cases, Torres is deep in thought in getting over his delicate knee injury & recoveing in time to play for the Spanish National Football Team.
