The Friday Night Liga game was between bottom placed Clubs Osasuna & Valladolid. The end result a 0 - 0 draw result & shared points. Both still in relegation dangers.
Great match that see-sawed the full 90 minutes between Celta de Vigo & Real Sociedad. The matched ended in a 2 - 2 draw. The two goals for Celta came from Nolito (penalty) 37th min & Santi Mina in the 81st min. The visitors got their two goals from Canales in the 8th min & Griezmann in the 43rd min.
Villarreal managed to win 1 - 0 Levante & get three points in the very last moment. The game seemed headed for a draw when a Levante player made a "stupid" foul in the 94th min. The consequent free kick found the head of Villarreal player Perbet who got the winner. Levante Coach Caparros was very upset & angry with his players.
Surprise result at Granada, Club fighting to stay alive in Liga next season, which defeated FC Barcelona 1 - 0 with the winner coming from Brahimi in the 16th min. Bad performance from Barça which was undermanned in defence & not focused. Granada had various opportunities to expand the scoreline but they failed to convert or else it would have been "scandalous".
FC Barcelona also created their chances but the Granada goalie tonight was superb along with the Granada defence which was solid the whole game. Good performance from them that will lift their spirits to attempt to avoid relegation.
Barcelona loses 3 points & is overtaken by Real Madrid on the classification table after the latter won their Liga game tonight.
Real Madrid started their match against Almeria knowing that FC Barcelona had lost their match & had given up 3 points. The home team did not disappoint winning Almeria 4 - 0 even though they had many regulars out due to injury or suspension ( C Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso, Marcelo, Sergio Ramos, Carvajal... etc).
Comfortable game with many opportunities going to Real Madrid which could have widened the finished results. Goals from Di Maria (28th min), Gareth Bale (52nd min), Isco (55th min) & Morata (84th min).
