SPANISH FOOTBALL LIGA ROUND 27 SUNDAY GAMES RESULTS

Spanish Football continued today with four matches scheduled of Round 27 Liga. Below is a brief summary of the main events, all the final results-scores & all the goalscorers.

Spanish Liga

RCD Espanyol got back to winning ways with a 3 - 1 win over Elche which puts them into the top half of the Spanish Liga table & with options of getting into Euro positions if they can manage to keep up their form with victories. The goals for Espanyol came in the following order, with David Lopez scoring in the 2nd min, followed by Colotto in the 21st min & Pizzi in the 58th min. Elche managed a consolation "own goal" that came off an Espanyol player in Fuentes.

Spanish Football Liga

Sevilla FC set course for Euro positions on the Liga table with an important win for them 1 - 3 over Almeria. For the latter the loss put them back into the relegation zone of the classification table & their particular battle continues for Liga survival.

Good match from Sevilla with goals from Bacca in the 30th min, CarriƧo in the 50th min & Gameiro in the 76th min. Almeria managed a consolation goal in the 85th min from Aleix Vidal.

Spanish Football 2014

Real Madrid hosted Levante & managed a comfortable 3 - 0 victory that consolidates them at the top of the Spanish Liga classification table opening up a 3 point gap with second placed Atletico de Madrid & 4 points with FC Barcelona currently in third place.

As mentioned an "under-control" performance & win by Real Madrid which played against 10 men when Levante lost David Navarro to a direct red card in the 63rd min when he fouled Ronaldo.

It was Cristiano Ronaldo who opened the scoring in the 11th min when he headed home his goal. The other two goals came from Marcelo in the 48th min after a wonderful play with CR7 & the third was an own goal from Levante defender Nikos in the 81st min.

The scoreline for Madrid could have been wider, but Benzema hit the "wood-work" twice & Levante goalie Keylor Navas made 2 - 3 saves that kept out Real Madrid. The only "grey" area of the night for Real Madrid was an apparent injury to defender Carvajal who went off on stretcher in a visible "bad state". No news on the exact cause or extent until further examinations.

Spanish Soccer 2014

Top match between Valencia CF & Athletic Club Bilbao that finished in a 1 - 1 draw. The match nearly did not happen due to a "black-out" that was fixed in time. The game was entertaining & all that it missed were more goals as the encounter certainly deserved them.

Valencia went ahead first with a goal from inform player Paco Alcacer in the 23rd min. Bilbao managed to equalize with a controversial penalty goal in the 53rd min by Aduriz. Valencia complained the decision & after watching the replay it looks as if the referee called a foul on Ander Herrera by Feghouli that was not. Very stiff on Valencia.

From this point onward & until the end of play both teams played head on,  but they also neutralised each other & finally settled for the shared points.
