The Friday night match was between lower table Clubs Elche hosted Osasuna & their encounter ended up in a 0 - 0 draw. The main highlight was the saves made from Elche goalkeeper Toño ( 3 match savers ) & then the missed penalty by his team-mate Corominas. Elche fans could not believe it.
Atletico de Madrid got back to their winning ways defeating Real Valladolid 3 - 0. The match was virtually all over by the 5th min when Atletico was already up 2 - 0 on the scoreboard. Raul Garcia opened the scoring in the 3rd min & Diego Costa fired in the second in the 5th min. The home side controlled the entire match & managed a third in the 74th min when defender Godin got into the party.
Levante managed a 1 - 0 victory over Almeria which puts them into Europa League table positions. Hard to believe as their Football is not brilliant but certainly effective. The referee got the Levante crowd angry when he disallowed a legitimate goal to their team. However, forward Barral got the winner in the 61st min to give the team a boosting three points.
FC Barcelona have a dress rehearsal practice session against bottom placed & Madrid Club Rayo Vallecano. The home side won 6 - 0 without sweating & sent a message over to Manchester City that their stars Lionel Messi & Neymar are back in action & scoring goals. It was a recital & the goals came in the following order:
- Adriano 2nd min , 1 - 0
- Messi 36th min, 2 - 0
- Alexis 52nd min, 3 - 0
- Pedro 56th min, 4 - 0
- Messi 68th min, 5 - 0
- Neymar 88th min, 6 - 0
By the way, Rayo did have their moment with two chances from Falque in the 1ºst half, but that was all. They also left very angry with Neymar & Alves dancing their little asses off celebrating the formers goal. The Rayo Vallecano players believed the 6 goals in themselves were enough & a dance rub it in your nose act was too much. Neymar asked post-match that he be forgiven for his lapse & expressed joy after coming back from injury. Must have been the "Brazilian" in him.
At the start of the season Celta de Vigo was nearly a Football "basket case" with Coach Luis Enrique on the verge of being sacked. Slowly but surely Celta de Vigo has lifted & has really improved notching up wins with tonight being another after taking the points 0 - 2 over Villarreal. Contested match that fell the way of the visitors in the 83rd min when Orellana scored for Celta. With 4 minutes left the match was abruptly stopped when a "moron" threw a tear gas bottle onto the field. Part of the crowd was evacuated & the match was in "limbo" for about 15 mins. When the match restarted Celta forward Nolito scored the second from a free-kick in the 91st min. Perhaps tears in the eyes of some apart from the thrown gas bottle ?
I suppose that after the Atletico de Madrid fine of 602€ for a lighter throwing incident with Cristiano Ronaldo, Villarreal will get a heavier fine? 603€ perhaps?
