SPANISH FOOTBALL - ROUND 23 LIGA SUNDAY GAMES RESULTS

Spanish Football continued today with Liga Round 23 matches. Here are all the final results - scores along with the goalscorers.

Spanish Liga Football 2014

Osasuna won 2 - 0 Madrid Club Getafe to add three very important points to their attempts to avoid relegation zone dangers. Getafe has not won since the 29th of November 2013 & their Coach Luis Garcia is in danger. The Osasuna goals came in the 8th min from Oriol Riera & in the 88th min from Roberto Torres.

Spanish Liga Football 2014

Very rainy, muddy & wet afternoon that gave a last moment comeback draw to Valladolid 2 - 2 over Elche. The visitors scored in the 34th min via Coro & in the 66th min via Manu de Moral. It looked like Elche would take the points until the hero of the match for Valladolid Osorio scored two goals - 71st & 83rd min - to equalize the scoreline & give his team a very welcomed & needed point.

Spanish Liga Football 2014

Real Sociedad played out a 0 - 0 draw against Levante. One of the main reasons that Real Sociedad could not give their home fans a victory was the Levante goalkeeper Keyler Navas who was again outstanding saving his side from a worst fate. Real Sociedad also complained strongly a referee decision in the 20th min when they appealed a penalty on Agirretxu that was not called. Shared points!

Spanish Soccer Liga 2014

Hard won 1 - 4 victory by FC Barcelona over Sevilla FC in adverse weather conditions that made it difficult to play Football. The win puts FC Barcelona back on top of the Spanish Liga classification table where they share 57 points with Real Madrid & Atletico de Madrid.

The scoreline is a bit deceiving as Barça passed some bad moments & had to pull from their Top players like Messi & Cesc Fabregas to seal the match. Sevilla FC in the first 20 min had Barça on the canvass with a 14th min goal from Sevilla FC defender Alberto Moreno ( from a Ratikic pass ) & then hit the post in the 20th min. FC Barcelona reacted & Alexis Sanchez scored from a Messi free-kick but it was clearly off-side , both Alexis & Pique were in an illegal position but the referee called it.  Lionel Messi then whipped onto a ball that was an unstoppable goal in the 43rd min to at least calm Barça from the early fright.

The second half saw Sevilla create three chances that were missed at close range & that we all are still wondering how the ball did not go in. Added,  the Sevilla pressure was such that Barça goalie Valdes had to do his magic to make some impressive wet weather saves. But Football will punish if you do not take your chances & that is what happened to Sevilla. Lionel Messi got his second & teams third in the 55th min, brilliantly executed by the way, & Cesc Fabregas chipped the goalie to score the teams fourth in the 88th min to seal things.

MONDAY NIGHT ROUND 23 MATCH:
Celta de Vigo - Athletic Club Bilbao
