The news out of Germany ( "Bild") picked up locally by Spanish Sports papers is that German Football Club Borussia Dortmund has given its Central Defender Mats Hummels "green light" to negotiate with Spanish Football Club FC Barcelona.
Months ago it was mentioned here that FC Barcelona had targeted the German International as the defender that would eventually replace Carles Puyol.
The player has contract with Dortmund until 2017, but he has an "escape" clause" that is valued around 35M€. All that Barça has to do is pay it & come to an agreement with the player on his economic terms. With this news we should see Hummels land at FC Barcelona next season as their new player & defender.
