EUROPA LEAGUE GROUP RESULTS | VALENCIA CF, SEVILLA FC - REAL BETIS

Europa League kicked off tonight with three Spanish Football Clubs beginning the long & difficult road of advancing as far as possible in a difficult & complex tournament. Below is a brief run down of the main events, the final results-scores & all the goalscorers.

Europa League 2013

Valencia CF hosted English Club Swansea in their opening Group A match. An English team full of familiar Spanish faces defeated easily 0 - 3 a very disappointing & down to 10 men Valencia side. The Spanish Club & team has the alarms bells sounding with their fans screaming their discontent & the players not reacting under pressure neither in Liga nor tonight in Europa League.

The worst scenario occurred for Valencia when defender Rami was sent off in the 10th min with a red card. This unsettled the Spanish team & broken them up tactically which Swansea exploited to score the first goal via Bony in the 14th min. From here it was all uphill for Valencia as they tried without gaining results. Swansea grew & Michu got the second in the 58th min & the third came from a terrific free kick from De Guzman in the 62nd min. Deserved victory for the English.

Storms at Valencia & rough weather in the coming days.

Europa League 2013

Expectant night at Seville with Real Betis hosting French Club Lyon in their Group I opener. Perhaps it was the conservative attitude of both teams, the tactical midfield battle that halted the flow the ball & the opportunities or the big European Football night of nerves & the occasion, but the final result was a boring 0 - 0 draw. Bit of an anti-climax were the good news was that at least Betis got a point just like their opponent.

Europa League 2013

Portuguese Club Estoril hosted Sevilla FC for their Group H opener & the victory went 1 - 2 to the Spanish Football Club. The big action occurred in the second half when Vitolo opened for Sevilla in the 58th min. However Estoril quickly reacted with an equalizer from Bruno Miguel in the 60th , but Sevilla FC maintained its good momentum & got the winner in the 77th min thanks to Gamiero. Good start from Sevilla FC.

Special mention to Marco Marin of Sevilla FC. The German on loan from Chelsea FC was outstanding.
