REAL MADRID. ALEXIS OF GETAFE TO SIGN NEXT SEASON

It was the worst kept secret in Football. Getafe´s 21 yr
old central defender ALEXIS will sign for REAL MADRID
next season.

According to local papers, Real will pay the 8M€ clause
in his contract to have him over to the "Bernabeu".

Alexis is one of the upcoming young stars of Spanish
Football. An excellent defender with an attacking style
& with goal.

Who knows he may well find that is current coach at
Getafe SCHUSTER will also coach him at Real next
season. As they say, things of Football!

According to UK press, MANCHESTER UNITED &
CHELSEA have 29 year old Portugues International
& FC BARCELONA midfielder DECO on their agendas.

The strategy is to lure the player over to the
Premier League with 2 arguements: 1. Money

Its no secret that current Chelsea coach Mourinho
is a big fan of Deco & to have him over would make

SPANISH FOOTBALL - "LA LIGA" - ROUND 24 RESULTS

Round 24 is characterized by plenty of drawn matches & a
Madrid derby which was emotional & controversial at the
sametime.

Yesterday the long awaited derby between ATLETICO DE
MADRID & REAL MADRID finished as traditionally derby´s
do, with a draw , a 1-1 draw.

FERNANDO TORRES got his 1º ever goal in against Real &
set his team on the road of a seemimg victory.

It was a whitewash after the 1º goal & Atletico got the ball
into the net again via PEREA, the was unjustifiably disallowed.
Real were playing terrible & its defence - excepting Higuera -
was a mess.
Then a mental lapse by Atletico allowed debutant HIGUAIN

to score his first ever goal in Spain & draw the match.















The 2º half continued with the Atletico dominance & thanks
to Casillas - who stopped it all - kept the match drawn.
Cannavaro had a horrible game & should have been given the
red card earlier than in the last moments of the game.
In summary, Real were left off the hook, thanks to missed chances
& some very controversial referring.

The other Saturday game finished in a 0-0 draw between
LEVANTE & ZARAGOZA

DEPORTIVO managed to go back home with the valuable 3
points thanks to the only goal of the match by ARIZMENDI
pictured above. REAL SOCIEDAD are in trouble, in the relegation
zone of the ladder

VILLAREAL are uncomfortably close to the "danger area"
of the ladder & their victory today will give them some
breathing space. MATIAS FERNANDEZ above played well
& set up the 1º goal for Villareal for TOMASSEN to score. The
match finished 2-1 against MALLORCA; FUENTES scored the
2º for Villareal & PEREYRE scored for the visitors

ESPANYOL continue on their winning run with another victory
over OSASUNA 0 - 2. TAMUDO , pictured above, scored along
with CORO

CELTA & RACING finsihed 2-2 with the image of the day
an interesting BAMOGO celebrating Celta´s 2º goal in dedication
to his child.

VALENCIA CF looked set to grab the victory over last placed
GIMNASTIC DE TARRAGONA thanks to the goal of JOAQUIN.
But in the 91ºmin , Nastic drew thanks to CASTRO.

FC BARCELONA defeated ATHLETICO DE BILBAO

3-0 at home. The highlight was the return of SAMUEL
ETO´O who scored. Barça mantains itself as leader.

the Osasuna vs Girondins game that went into extra time &
Osasuna scored in the very last minute!

SEVILLE FC qualified with a 1-0 over STEAUA BUCHAREST

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - MIXED RESULTS FOR SPANIARDS

Mixed night for the two Spanish teams that played tonight
in the Champions League.

FC BARCELONA lost at home 1-2 to LIVERPOOL FC
& puts the qualification for the Q/F totally uphill for Barça,
as the return game gives all the advantage to Liverpool.

Barça went out attacking & looked like they were on their way
when in the 13m DECO scored.

















However , the English side played 3 cards: team work, pressure
& field order. They stopped & made Barça feel uncomfortable
all night halting play & being a "pain in the ass" ( football speak).
The anxiety played its role & in the 42m BELLAMY scored
to draw the game.

This philosophy continued into the 2nd half & in the 73m
RIISE scored to put Liverpool in front & set up the victory.

Great win, great tactical set up by Benitez & its all set up for
the return match at Anfield, were the locals are in the box
seat.

The other game was INTER MILAN vs VALENCIA CF &

it was the reverse, in that, Valencia used the Liverpool way of
football: field placement, pressure & great counterattacking.

The 1º goal of the night came from CAMBIASSO ( Inter ) in
the 28m & it seemed the Italians would steamroll, however
Valencia settled & began to play.

Then in the 63m DAVID VILLA scored & levelled from a wonderful
free kick. A real beauty!

Here the game broke with great plays, & the pride
of Inter showed through ending in the goal by
MAICON for Inter. The last 15m was spectacular &
Valencia returned to equalize via SILVA, thus ending
this match in a 2-2 draw with an excellent strike.
Great result for Valencia who play at home with
the advantage in 2 weeks & have a real chance to knock
out the Italians.

REAL MADRID DEFEAT BAYERN MUNICH WITH A SENSE THAT IT WAS ALL AN ILLUSION

REAL MADRID won 3-2 against BAYERN MUNICH in a match
that left you wondering which of the two was worst. The 1º half
was dominanted by Real with nice play & gave the impression
that the good old days were rolling back.

RAUL GONZALEZ - pictured below - added to the all time best
European Cup goal scorer tally , with two goals in the 09m & the
27m.



















LUCIO, 5mins earlier, sent a shiver through the crowd
with a goal that equalized in the 22 m.But the Real outfit
good their act together & set up the 3º goal for VAN
NISTELROOY to put into the back of the net in the 33min.

DAVID BECKHAM was in great form all our the pitch , having
been stop by scoring with a great save by Kahn from a direct
free kick. ROBERTO CARLOS came back from injury to run
riot along his wing , before feeling a pinch in his hamstring in the
2º half to be replaced by Bravo.

Add to this, the change of HIGUAIN for ROBINHO , plus
Bayern ´s bet with Pizarro changed the game totally
from the 50min onwards. Bayern took control reaching
numerous times the goal which thanks to CASILLAS´s saves
dampened the German onslaught. Real were on the ropes
when VAN BRUMMEL put a bucket of cold water over
the Spaniards with a shot that passed Casillas & registered
the Germans 2 goal, putting them right back in contention
in this qualifier with the away leg still to be played.

Its clear that both teams are in terrible state & the problem
was to know who was worst. But its clear that If Real Madrid
hadmet another team of the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool, Milan,
Lyon, Chelsea...etc the outcome would have been a scandal
against Madrid.

Tough times ahead for Real. This weekend they meet Atletico
de Madrid in the local derby ( "la liga") & a loss here could finally
tip the house of cards down. Fabio Capello future looks doomed,
this maybe only a brief pause, before the inevitable.

The possible line ups are pure speculation at this point although
Samuel Eto´o could make his return with Messi. Here is a

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. REAL MADRID vs BAYERN MUNICH A DO OR DIE GAME

It is one of European Football most attractive games, a
classic that secures action, goals, nail bitting & passion.
Tonight´s REAL MADRID vs BAYERN MUNICH match
comes at a moment when both clubs are going through a
very "rough" patch at home. There is nothing like theses
type of games to pull a team out of the "hole" & regenerate
for them the whole season.

However, this game has the added tension that it could
signal, apart from the possible 2007 European end for
Real Madrid, the end of coach Fabio Capello. Rumours

come to an economic agreement. Other sources ( radio COPE)
say that independiently of tonights result, Capello will announce
his resignation & MICHEL - ex Real Madrid start & current
2º team coach - will take hold of the team.

In any case, it highlights that tonights game is more than just

a simple European Cup qualifier, the result will have
rammifications & send shock waves throughtout the club if
it is negative.
















BAYERN MUNICH have probably less pressure, as they have
the advantage of the 2º leg home game. However, they too are
going through a "terrible" time locally with a change of coach

mid season, & this game is vital for them to regain confidence,

prestige & help "recovery" part of this season.

All in all, tonights game is more than just a classic match, its a
do or die affair. For some actors, its transcendential.

Another great weekend of Spanish Football action in "La Liga".
Plenty of goals, controversy & red cards.

Yesterday 2 matches played. Firstly REAL MADRID meet
REAL BETIS at home & finished in a disappointing 0-0
draw. Betis was clearly the dominant team, specially after
Beckham received the red card & left his team with 10 men.
Real still cannot fine the form or play that can let us say that
they are out of the woods.

The other Saturday night match was the interesting & awaited
ZARAGOZA vs VILLAREAL game, where Zaragoza won 1-0
thanks to a goal from DIEGO MILITO. Villareal are getting
close to the relegation zone & need to pick up in their game if
they are to stay clear

Revelation team RECREATIVO DE HUELVA continues surprising
with a 1-0 win over REAL SOCIEDAD - pictured celebrating their
goal below

LUIS GRACIA - pictured below - is in excellent form. He
scored two goals tonight in ESPANYOL´s 3 - 1 victory over
REAL MALLORCA. Espanyol consolidate themselves in mid-

UEFA CUP. CELTA & SEVILLE FC DO WELL

The last two Spanish teams to play in the UEFA CUP tonight ,
CELTA DE VIGO & SEVILLE FC have done well.

Celta played away at Moscow against Spartak in a cold environment
& on artificial turf. They went out attacking, played the pressure
game & came away with a fabulous draw considering the adverse
conditions. GUSTAVO LOPEZ played a great game setting up
NUÑEZ - pictured below - who scored Celta´s only goal.

Spartak scored via KALYNCHENKO their only goal & thus finishing
the game in a 1-1 draw

The other Spanish team was SEVILLE FC who played away to
STEAUA DE BUCHAREST. A tough opponent seeing they started
in Champions & moved to UEFA after being eliminated in the
preliminary round. Seville FC showed why they´re high on the
Spanish League & scored twice via POULSEN (pictured) &
KANOUTE. Great result 0-2 & keeps the Spaniards in contention
to renew the title.

CRISTIANO RONALDO - EVERYONE IS TAKING POSITIONS

It seems parties are taking their positions & setting up
their strategies in the CRISTIANO RONALDO "affair".

Firstly, you need to begin to calm the fan base or at least
"train" them in accepting the obvious ; that the player
does not wish to play at MAN. UTD & go to Spain.

Secondly, you ask for a "ridiculous" price rise, which if
rejected, gives you more arguements to leave.
















This has been already done by the players representative,
HUGO VIANA going to the English paper "The Sun" &
expressing that it will difficult to keep Cristiano at Man Utd.

Ok so the strategy is in place. Obviously Man. Utd is´nt going
to let the 22 year old Portugues star leave easily. SFS imagines

Local sports media, rumour that to get the cash, Barça will sell
RONALDINHO ( possibly to Milan for a massive deal) & /or
SAMUEL ETO´O ( who may also be moving positions with his
antics). Real Madrid may have to generate cash flows by selling
ROBINHO, CANNAVARO or another of its stars.

So things are looking lively for this summer, the newspapers
are happy, as this will generate enough news to keep them selling
in the off - season.

UEFA CUP. THE TWO SPANISH SIDES DO OK.

Two Spanish sides played tonight the UEFA CUP.
Both have done well with a draw & the other with a
win.

OSASUNA played away to French side Girondin & it finished
in a 0 - 0 draw. A very tough game with plenty of fouls,
boring & with a few determinant goalkeeper saves. Justified
result!

The other Spanish side ESPANYOL defeated Italian side
LIVORNO away with a 1- 2 scoreline.
PANDIANI scored for the Spaniards with a penalty & placed
himself as the "Leading Goal Scorer" so far in the UEFA
competition with a total of 7 goals.

The other scorer for Espanyol was MOHA & the Italians
managed to pull one back via Galante late in the game.

The game was played behind closed doors due to the Italian

authority crowd control & violence measure.
