The Spanish Sports paper "AS" writes up a story today that puts a spotlight on young French U-21 International & Lille player Lucas Digne. The focus isn't just any, it is the watchful eyes of Spanish Football giant FC Barcelona which is said to be following the evolution of the player very closely. The French heir apparent to the position left vacant by Eric Abidal & with time Patrice Evre will have to pass on, the right back position, is destined for Digne. The bonus with the youngster is that he can also play as a left back & as a central defender which gives him an extra that makes his profile so attractive for many Clubs.
Lille, the current Club of Lucas Digne, is considered a "hard nut to crack" for their strong stance on transfers & the money they finally negotiate. Barça knows it won´t be easy & will need to be agile & quick as well.
The French U - 21 International defender is said to have various European Clubs also watching carefully & may pounce at any moment. The Clubs being named are Real Madrid, Manchester United, PSG & Manchester City, four Clubs with sufficient financial muscle to rival FC Barcelona. Will be interesting, the "kid" is apparently hot with demand.
Stay tuned!
