SPANISH FOOTBALL | LIGA | SUNDAY ROUND 19 GAMES RESULTS

Four matches scheduled this Sunday of Round 19 as part of the Spanish Football League - LA LIGA. Following on is a brief summary of all the events, final results & all the goal scorers.

Spanish Soccer 2013

REAL BETIS are having an incredible season to date. This midday the Club notched up another win to put them up there with Champions League aspirations. Betis defeated LEVANTE in a well earned 2 - 0 effort with goals from CAMPBELL in the 7th min & RUBEN CASTRO in the 63rd min. This last player keeps knocking at the Spanish National Team with his goals.

Spanish Soccer 2013

REAL SOCIEDAD played out a 1 - 1 draw with "troubled" DEPORTIVO A CORUÑA. It was Coruña that managed to get ahead first when PIZZI took advantage of a Sociedad defensive mess up. Then in the 45th min VELA got the equalizer for Real Sociedad.

Then things turned seemingly in favour towards the home side when Deportivo Evaldo got a red card in the 64th min, but Sociedad did not take advantage of the one man down situation of their opponent. The home team rushed things looking for the victory & only managed to destabilize their Football. Shared points.

Spanish Soccer 2013

ATLETICO DE MADRID did the hard work in the first half to score two goals & defeat REAL ZARAGOZA 2 - 0. Worked victory but without too much tension as a serious attitude was enough to break Zaragoza & then keep them at bay.

The first goal came from a corner which found the head of THIAGO in the 30th min, a practised piece as the defence was looking at Falcao & Thiago ran into the space. Then a clear penalty was called on Turan which FALCAO converted in the 38th min to put things in place for Atletico.

The second half was less intense with Zaragoza obviously trying to get goals but their efforts were cancelled out & kept under control by Atletico.

FC BARCELONA 2013

MALAGA FC played well but was overwhelmed by an inspired FC BARCELONA which won 3 - 1. The Catalan team with this victory opens an 18 point gap with Real Madrid & becomes the "Best Club in Spanish First Division History" ( points ) for a first half of a season.

Malaga FC held out until Malaga midfielder Camacho made a mistake that allowed LIONEL MESSI to open the scoring in the 27th min. Then Iniesta ( superb tonight ) , Cesc , Xavi & company began their song & dance to wear down Malaga. Messi made a precise pass that put CESC FABREGAS in front off goal & the second came in the 50th min.

Malaga FC attempted to stop the haemorrhage & picked up somewhat their game to only see their effort flattened by THIAGO with a third in the 82nd min. But to Malaga´s credit they were rewarded for their courage & persistence with an excellent goal from BUONANNOTTE in the 88th min, well deserved indeed.

Said this, Barça are currently unstoppable.
