REAL MADRID & GONZALO HIGUAIN AGREE UNTIL 2016

Local Sports papers have announced that REAL MADRID & Argentine forward GONZALO HIGUAIN have come to an agreement to extend the players contract until 2016. The players father met today with Real Madrid Directives to unblock negotiations precisely the day new Coach José Mourinho was officially presented. This gives the hint that Mourinho has given the "green-light" to the player.

The player had been delaying his renewal giving rise to speculations that Higuain was for sale or that the player wished to try his luck elsewhere. English Club Chelsea FC sounded as a possible new "home" along with a few other teams who were asking for his situation. Higuain will now receive a pay rise of 3M€/year & a rise in his contract release clause.

Wow, los blancos seem to truly like to extend the contracts of their players for a very long time. I remember when Casillas signed a really long contract extension some years ago, but I didn't expect Higuaín to prolongate his contract until 2016. This reminds me of Arsenal FC's policy of only giving one-year deals to players aged thirty and older.
