LIVERPOOL FC has qualified for the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Q/Finals
after crushing REAL MADRID CF 4-0. It was the first time both Clubs
met at Anfield & Liverpool poured on the play for its fans & send a clear
message to all other teams that it is a serious contender with its 5-0
aggregate result.

Real Madrid were tactically beaten again by Liverpool Coach Benitez as he
made sure that the midfield was his, thus eliminating Real Madrid player
makers. The Spanish players were out of position & not connecting as a
team in which they paid dearly in the 1ºst half when Liverpool virtually
decided the tie. The result could have been more the 8-0 had it not been for
Real goalkeeper IKER CASILLAS who stopped at least 6 clear chances to
make
him his teams best man, that says it all.

FERNANDO TORRES
started strong & warned early when Casillas
stopped a "sure" goal in the first minutes, however he put Liverpool
ahead in the 15th min. From here onwards it was the English team that
dominanted the game with XABI & MASCHERANO controlling 100%

The pressure was so great & Real Madrid losing the ball, that in the 27th
min Liverpool was awarded a "dubious" penalty with alleged handball from
Heinze. STEVE GERRARD took responsability & scored his teams 2º goal.

If it was all uphill for Real Madrid in the 2ºhalf , it become nearly
impossible when in the 46th min GERRARD scored a "cracker".

Real reacted & made changes Marcelo, De Vaart & Guti & tried all
the 2ºhalf but the truth was that Liverpool was the superior team
& substitute DOSSENA scored Liverpool´s fourth in the 87th min

Liverpool continues on in the Champions competition & Real Madrid
will begin from new to plan its next season & rectify the mistakes that
have haunted them all this season. Their will be new Presidential
elections which will bring new directives & new ideas. Real Madrid will
renew its team & current Coach Juande will most likely give way to
another, as he showed little, if not no ideas tonight. Thats Football!

Totally different story in Greece, were VILLAREAL took its 1-1 aggregate
to win in a ground that no Spanish team had won before, defeating
PANATHINAIKOS 1-2 & qualifying for the Q/Finals.

IBAGAZA (above) was the player that steared Villareal onto victory.
He scored
in the 55th min to lift his side onwards towards "glory".

The Greeks fought back to give them hope with a goal by MANTZIOS
in the 55th min, but Ibagaza gave the pass that put LLORENTE in
front of goal so as to score in the 70th min for Villareal & give them the
tie. Great win for Villareal!

Tomorrow Champions & Spanish teams continue with FC Barcelona &
Atletico
de Madrid in action.
