They really are simila!r-- I like how Diego starts his, and let's not forget, Diego's goal is on a World Cup 2nd round match-- Having said that, Lio is only 19 years old! Whatever, if Lio keeps it up, there'll be plenty merriment ahead.
WOW...it actually looks better than the Maradona. Messi's pace is unbelievable. Before seeing Maradona replay, my memory was that he ran 3/4 the pitch...but it just seems that way compared to this brilliant strike of lightning.

Maradons goal was against at the time a quality english team in the WORLD CUP, many tipped could go the whole way, messi, although an believable goal came against Getafe in La liga. There is surely a massive gulf in quality there. Although some of the english tackling would not exactly convince you of that

Quality stuff but Maradona's does rank higher because it was during the WC and vs England as stated previously.
Messi's goal is a better one when you compare to Maradona's, you can see the English defenders were much more relaxed than the Getafe team. Anyway, both of these guys are great footballers.

still a little early to compare Messi n Maradona. no doubt, Messi is proving to be the brightest search by barca youth and their fine product of their grooming with his apparent south american skills and that extra bit of discipline and team work(due to years at barca, which is so much lacking in Robinho). he likes to keep the ball close to his foot as can be seen in this current goal. comparison with porutgese winger Christiano Ronaldo is apparent. bith are priced around the same in the tranfer market and nothing can persuade the bosses of both to part with `em. my vote still goes for Messi.
christiano ronaldo plucks his eyebrows & is way too preocupied with the camera-- messi doesn't mind looking like any other regular teenager, he's busy being unstoppable. My vote goes to him as well.
