UEFA Cup night & two Spanish
teams have played their games.

Both SEVILLE FC & OSASUNA
have won their respective matches
with goals & great play.

In the case of Seville, they continue
in their fantastic form, playing a
beautiful stylish game. Osasuna
who is not going so well locally
have played a gutsy match to stay
alive in the UEFA competition.

DANIEL ALVES stood out for his team scoring twice as pictured, his
were 2 of the 4 goals for his team.

Osasuna played a well organized & concentrated game.

Osasuna player PUÑAL scored all 3 goals ( hat trick) for his
side - pictured below celebrating - while the opponents managed
to pull one back.

MAX MERKEL EX ATLETICO DE MADRID COACH DIES AT 87

Sad loss today for ATLETICO DE
MADRID , SPANISH & WORLD
FOOTBALL fans.

Austrian coach MAX MERKEL
has passed away at the age of
87.

He is loved , specially by At.Madrid
fans for coaching & taking the team
to win the SPANISH CUP ( 1972) &
SPANISH 1º DIVISION TITLE ( 1973).

He also coached SEVILLE FC, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke
04, Augsburg & Karlstruhe.

CHELSEA EYES VALENCIA CF FORWARD DAVID VILLA

The English tabloid "The
Sun" has been picked up
by Spanish Football press,
with the news that
CHELSEA FC is interested
in the services of Spanish
International & VALENCIA
CF striker DAVID VILLA.

The transfer market opens
up in January 2007 - "Winter
Market" - & Chelsea are
willing to pay 33M€ to get
the lad over to "Stanford
Bridge".

SFS personally doubts that DAVID VILLA will leave Spain or Valencia for
an English adventure. His a town lad who is still maturing & a jump to
foreign soil may halt his progression. Having said this the Big $$$/€€€

SPANISH FOOTBALL - "LA LIGA". ROUND 12 RESULTS & SCORERS

Fantastic round 12 of "LA LIGA" with 32 goals ( maximum so far this
season for any round), with goals of extreme beauty & greatly fought
games.















The big match this Sunday was the VALENCIA CF v REAL MADRID
clash in which REAL won, after Valencia dominanted & missed plenty
of chances. The football maxim of ..."those who miss lose", came true.
Real Madrid via its Italian coach Capello applied a classical Italian set
up ( defend & defend to counterattack that paid off).

RAUL scored Real Madrid´s only goal giving his team the valuable

3points.

CELTA drew with ZARAGOZA in a tough & entertaining game.



















OSASUNA defeated DEPORTIVO 4 -1 with 2 goals by ex-Real Madrid

DE MADRID drew with REAL SOCIEDAD & FC BARCELONA won
against VILLAREAL

Atletico de Madrid played a weak & boring game & drew luckily
against a Real Sociedad side that at least took the iniciative.

RONALDINHO was again the main "mover" & scorer for his side.
He helped enormously in his team´s 4-0 win over Villareal.

















INIESTA got his name on the scorers sheet as well.

always manages to score.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: REAL MADRID FIGHTS BACK TO DRAW

SFS is currently on a business trip & is trying to keep up with
events. This post is going to be a quick round up of the REAL
MADRID - OLYMPIQUE DE LYON match will I found time to
view.

Great match with 2 contrasting sides; the 1 half all Lyon & the
2 half a gutsy Real pulling back a draw. Recovering pride
material.

























CAREW scored for Lyon first & was a star, great match & very
dangerous.






















MALOUDA scored Lyon´s 2º goal & its was riot. It looked real dark
for Real.



















Then the pride come in & the anger back into Real ´s match. DIARRA
pulled one back at the end of the 1º half. The fight back was on.

SPANISH FOOTBALL. 2 MATCHES OF ROUND 11 - REAL MADRID & SEVILLE FC WIN (SEE VIDEO & GOALS)

Two matches were played tonight in Round 11 of the SPANISH 1º
DIVISION - "LA LIGA". REAL MADRID & SEVILLE FC
won their respective matches conviencingly & with plenty of goals.














Real Madrid paid tribute to the great PUSKAS, a Real legend, before
the match. The spirit of Puskas must have stayed on the field because
Real scored 3 goals against the 1 of Racing de Santander.



















The 1º goal for Real was scored by SERGIO RAMOS & the 2º by
JOSE ANTONIO REYES - pictured above.
























Above is CANNAVARO who is tipped to be the next France Football
2006 Golden Ball winner.
















The 3º goal was scored by DIARRA. Racing pulled one back with a
superb free kick into the cornor of the goal posts by GARAY.

Overall a comfortable win, that saw GUTI receive a RED card. This
should settle the team for this mid week European Champions League
appointment.

JOR 11 - Real Madrid 3-1 Racing S.

The other match played was between SEVILLE FC & VALENCIA.
Valencia lost early SILVA with a RED card & left his team with 10
men & at the mercy of a strong & powerful Seville side.
























The 1º goal was scored by ESCUDE with a great free kick, the 2º
by FABIANO & the 3º by KANOUTE who takes the League´s Top
Scorer position with 9 goals so far this season.

SEVILLE-VALENCE

For Valencia a mention should go out to DAVID VILLA who ran
himself into the ground & tried his heart out up front.

Its the NEWS FLASH of the day.
All the Spanish sports press are
speculating with the news: REAL
MADRID´s defender & Italian
squad Captain CANNAVARO is
tipped to win this years FRANCE
FOOTBALL magazine GOLDEN
BALL player for 2006. A prize
which signals the "Best European
Player for 2006", also taken by
some the "Best player in the world",
along side with FIFA world player
prize.

The news exploded when France
Football photographers &
journalists were seen in Madrid
doing a spread on the Real
Madrid player.
If the news is true, its a controversial decision.


Does a World Champion title
suffice to win the award?
Is it a politically correct
decision?
Does the fact that he has
greater media appeal
sway the vote & help
sell magazines?

Lots of questions which
will start a big debate:
do you win because you play football like no other human on
earth OR is it that you go down well & the titles (& their weight)
are more important?

ATLETICO DE MADRID EYES RODRIGO PALACIOS

ATLETICO DE
MADRID has set
its eyes on BOCA
JUNIOR forward
RODRIGO
PALACIOS.

According to "as",
the idea is to secure
the player for the
2007/2008 season.

They see him as the
substitute for TORRES,
which makes you wonder -
will they sell Torres? SFS believes that if Atletico dont win a title this
year, the "THE KID" will leave.
The price for Palacios is around 15M€, which no doubt will be more.

SPAIN LOSES TO RUMANIA. THE SLIDE CONTINUES

Its was a "new look" side. The SPANISH TEAM gave a run to
the in-form players: JAVI NAVARRO, SILVA, ANGEL,
MORIENTES,SENNA...etc & they lost to RUMANIA 0-1,
thanks to a lovely goal by MARICA - pictured below.















The other Rumanian who played a fantastic game was defender &
Captain CHIVU, no wonder half of Europe is after this player. Not
only can he defend but he hit the cross-bar with a splended free-kick
in the 2º half.


















The Spanish player of note was DAVID VILLA who run all night &
fought every ball.

Worrying times ahead for SPAIN, coach Aragones will come underfire
again & media will ask for his head. I think its time he should leave.

scored all 4

victory over OSASUNA.
This puts him up there with "la liga´s" top goal scorers to
date with 8 goals overall.

Other highlights is RECREATIVO win over CELTA, with
UCHE pictured below scoring for his Recreativo.


















BETIS finally won with 2 goals over LEVANTE. Betis player
CAPI - pictured - showed his smile after getting on the scoring
sheet with a goal in the last minute.


















GETAFE won MALLORCA with NACHO (below) scoring the
only goal. However the man of the match was Getafe´s Argentine
goalkeeper ABBONDANZIERI who stopped everything thrown

finished in a win for Barça, thanks to the last min goals by
RONALDINO from a superb free kick & SAVIOLA. The Brazilian

Round 10 kicked off with two great games which saw ATLETICO
DE MADRID win against VILLAREAL & VALENCIA CF draw
to a AT. DE BILBAO goal.















Atletico celebrated goals - pictured above - 3 times & could have
more if they would have been more accurate. They took control
of the 2 half & played well, giving their fans joy that they have
recently lacked.







FERNANDO TORRES finally
scored , if however, from a
penalty & gave back the
confidence the striker needs









SERGIO AGUERO finally started from the beginning & scored a
wonderful goal - chip included - to show & prove that he is a real
crack player & should always start.

goal by Atletico. B substitute LLORENTE gave his team the
draw , after Valencia dominante the whole game

throughout the entire
game.



For Bilbao YESTE - pictured - was their best player showing his
