SPANISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE TOP 25 GOALS - 2005/2006

Here are 2 VIDEOS of the BEST GOALS scored in the SPANISH LEAGUE
for the season 2005/2006. Due to the "lack" of news today (
you
can read all the lastest
on transfers, Spanish Squad & WORLD CUP
news below
) I thought I give the readers more than 15mins of superb
goals scored by some great "LIGA" players.

The person who set up the videos has utilized the music by
local Spanish pop band "El Canto Del Loco". Not my taste,
(you can turn the volume down) but someone may enjoy & wish to now.

Hope you
enjoy. More news as it happens, stay tuned!

PART 2

SPAIN - WORLD CUP NEWS. PERNIA HEARS THE CALLUP

According to radio station Cadena Ser,ASIER DEL HORNO has
not convienced the Spanish medical team the he can recover
in time for the World Cup from his achilles/muscle injury.

Spanish Football authorities have sent the paperwork to
FIFA
so as to gain the permission to substitute the player
for another.

That other player it seems will be MARIANO PERNIA, a 29 year
old Argentine who is nationalized Spanish & ex-GETAFE player
who has been signed with ATLETICO DE MADRID for the 2006/07
season.

Pernia was extremely disappointed not to have been called
originally,as he has had a tremendous season with 10 goals-
as a defender! His assets are that he is an attacking left
back with plenty of goal, a fantastic free - kick specialist &
with a fighting attitude.

Pernia who is currently holidaying in Argentina will be on
"standby" in case he needs to do his bags & race back to
Spain.
The Spanish team is training this week in Valencia for their
2º friendly against Egypt this Saturday.

Everyone is therefore awaiting the FIFA OK for Pernia´s
incorporation to be official.

Check out how this left back rockets them into the net.

SPANISH FOOTBALL. REAL MADRID: PROMISES, PROMISES, PROMISES...

REAL MADRID´s Presidential elections are beginning to
heat up.There are already 2 candidates that have presented
themselves.
The is the Villar Mir/Carlos Sainz ( ex 2 x Rally World

Champ) team & the is the Ramon Calderon/Pedja Mijatovic
(ex Real Madrid player) team.

Its with the latter that I wish to give some news, &
share the promises they have made to the Real Madrid
members if they are voted.

Firstly, Ramon Calderon has chosen Pedja Mijatovic to be
his Football General Manager,& Mijatovic is promising some

big things & big names.
(as)

First promise, to bring Brazilian & Milan MIdfielder KAKA.
He is seen as the natural replacement for the retiring
Zidane.

Second promise,to bring FABIO CAPELLO to coach
Real Madrid next season. Conversations have taken place
between both parties, to which Capello has confirmed
publically to be correct.

Its a well known fact, that the candidate that can bring
home
the bacon, that is, make the biggest promises of
signings usually wins the attention of the 000s of Real
members & wins the election. Florentino Perez won the last
elections by promising & delivering LUIS FIGO from
Barcelona FC.

More candidates will present themselves & their proyects
in the coming days & there is going to be plenty of promises,
promises, promises...

It´s another thing if they can deliver. Some candidates are
thinking of going after Barcelona FC´s LIONEL MESSI -
now that is a promise!

RAFAEL NADAL BREAKS RECORD ON CLAY COURT

I´m taking a break from Football (small break - see below
all the latest Football news) because this is a Spanish
Football & SPORTS site, & because this is great news for
Spanish Sports.

A milestone for SPANISH TENNIS, the young 20 year old
RAFAEL NADAL has just broken Guillermo Vilas´s 29 year
old Tennis record of 53 consecutive wins on clay court.
(as)

Nadal conquered that record (54) after beating Swedish
player Robin Soderling 7-5, 6-2, 6-1 in the 1º round of
the FRENCH OPEN.
Nadal is the hot favourite in this tournament, although it´s

going to be tough.
Great achievement, the future is certainly bright for Nadal

& Spanish Tennis. Good Luck Rafael for the rest of the Open.

FRANK LAMPARD ADMIRES BARCELONA FC

Chelsea player FRANK LAMPARD
has told Spanish daily "Marca" ,
in a very casual conversational
way, that he would´nt mind ending
up playing at BARCELONA FC.

Caught holidaying at Stiges (Spain),
he gave the impression that a
change "of airs" would be good
& his Catalan wife would enjoy
landing in Spain as well.

He also recognized that he has a
contract with Chelsea until 2008,
& that he is comfortable playing
there at this momemt.

Chelsea coach Mourinho, has ordered that his contract be
urgently renewed with conditions that will stop any tentation
of going to Barça. It´s believed Chelsea will offer 10,000,000€/
year so as to resign & stay.

I doubt Lampard will go to Barça soon, he will renew for sure.
But , hey , things change constantly & nothing surprises us
anymore in this crazy World of Football.

player in the World. Can win a match single handedly, this
is his moment to jump to the next level of Historical stars:
Cruyff,Zidane,Beckenbauar ...etc.& sit in the "Olympus".

Ronaldo
Forward 29 years old, one of the best "pure" strikers in
the last 10 years.Seems like he does nothing, to only

& clinical.

FERNANDO ALONSO WINS MONACO GP

FERNANDO ALONSO, the current Spanish FORMULA 1
World Champion, has won the MONACO GP.

Apart from Alonso´s drive, other highlights was Raikonen´s
withdrawl due to motor burn-out & a mignificent 5º place
for M.Schumacher who started last, due to a penalization
for interference during yesterdays POLE qualifications.

RESULTS:
1. ALONSO (SP)
2. MONTOYA (COL)
3.COULTHARD (GBR)

Next race - SILVERSTONE (GBR).

SPAIN vs RUSSIA - 1º WORLD CUP FRIENDLY

SPAIN´s 1º WORLD CUP friendly match has ended in a 0-0
draw with RUSSIA .We saw the two sides of the same coin,
with tonights Spanish Squad.

The KICK OFF team was

CASILLAS

RAMOS - PABLO- PUJOY- A.LOPEZ
GARCIA- SENNA-ALBELDA-CESC
TORRES - VILLA

A very conservative tactical set up with little creative
impulse or innovative mood. Missed holding the ball &
taking the game to their area. Good combination work
between Torres & Villa, which was the positive sign in a
lacklastre 1º half

The FINISHING team was:

CASILLAS
RAMOS - PABLO - PUYOL
X.ALONSO
JOAQUIN - XAVI - INIESTA - REYES
TORRES - RAUL

Much more offensive, more play creating players, with
vision & open spaces. Raul caused problems to the Russian
side, very good too see. X. Alonso took control, looking,
passing & building at all times. Lastly, great plays from
Reyes who put a spring into the heel of the side & was
always dangerous.

¿Conclusion? Definately not at the level of Brazil, Argentina
...etc,but coach Aragones is trying new things & players in
diverse positions. The ingredients are there to evolve into
a good solid side, Spain´s needs the next 2 friendly´s to fine
tune the machine & begin to roll

Great game from Puyol, Pablo & Torres. Encouraging from
Reyes, Raul, X.Alonso & Xavi, in which we will see them all
getting better in the next few weeks.
