SPANISH FOOTBALL RUMOURS. XAVI ALONSO & RIQUELME

SFS is back & hopes its readers have enjoyed the break. But Spanish
Football continues & sporting paper "as" throws us a rumour &
gossip to start the day.

His worth 21M€ approx & his contract ends in 2009, he plays for
LIVERPOOL & his name is XAVI ALONSO. This player is the Nº1
objective for ATLETICO DE MADRID, the English club has´nt
received direct contacts , but Alonso immediate circles has via
family & representative.

It is common practice that clubs "test" the players thoughts, however
if Alonso does decide to return to Spain, Atletico will have stiff
competition for Real Madrid, Barça, Valencia, Seville ...etc to gain his
services.

This "star" shined most brightly when his club VILLAREAL
was up on top of "La Liga", in Semis of the Champions League
& battling with Argentina in the World Cup last year.
Everything has change for RIQUELME in the last 6 months.
Argentina was knocked out, his team is struggling in "La Liga"
& is not in Euro competition. The Argentine is not shinning &
the frustration is showing with threats that he will leave Villareal,
return late from his Xmas holidays & even go back to BOCA

It is obvious that he is "sounding" the market & he wishes to
regain the protagonist tag that kept him on the front pages of
