Real Sociedad defeated 3 - 2 Valencia CF to further accentuate the "bad vibes" at Valencia. Although Valencia CF goalie Diego Alves stopped a penalty (another), his heroics was not enough to avoid the loss.

Days before Valencia Coach Prandelli heavily criticised his players for the lack of intensity & commitment. Surely it was a motivational tactic but again luck nor their Football were effective.

Real Sociedad took advantage of a "soft" Valencia early & was already up 2 goals by the 23rd min. From then it was all extra efforts, frustrations & anxiety as Valencia fought to get back in. But Real Sociedad managed the situation.

Goals:
  • Willian Jose 1st min, 1 - 0
  • Willian Jose 23st min , 2 - 0
  • Parejo 35th min , 2 - 1
  • Juanmi 90th min, 3 - 1
  • Bakkali 92nd min, 3 - 2
 Las Palmas 1 (Livaja 21st m) - Leganes 1 (Guerrero 75th min).

Real Madrid was saved once again in the last minute by Sergio Ramos to win a tough & gritty Deportivo A Coruña 3 - 2. Its the 35th straight win by Real Madrid & takes them off to Japan to play the FIFA World Clubs Championships with a 6 point lead at the top of the Liga classification table over Barça.

Real Madrid went in with 8 changes, including leaving out the likes of Ronaldo, Benzema, Modric etc., thus giving a run to those who sit more on the bench: Morata, James, Nacho, Asensio etc. Deportivo was solid in defence & dangerous when given their opportunities.

All the action occurred in the 2º half with Morata opening the scoreline for Real Madrid. However, very "stupid" defensive errores (especially the first by Casemiro) allowed Deportivo to score two quick goals to shock the locals.

Real Madrid Coach Zidane reacted & brought on Lucas Vazquez, young Mariano & Marcelo & changed the defence to 3 defenders. The comeback began with Mariano heading ( hit the shoulder) the equalizer & Ramos headed the winner in the last minute from a corner.

Once again heroics & heart-attacks for local supporters. Goals fell in this order:

  • Morata 49th min, 1 - 0
  • Joselu 62nd , 1 - 1
  • Joselu 64th min, 1 - 2
  • Mariano 83rd min, 2 - 2
  • Sergio Ramos 91st min, 3 - 2
