The fixture started with the Friday Night game between Real Sociedad & RCD Espanyol which ended in a 1 - 1 draw. The goalscorers were Piatti in the 61st min for Espanyol with Willian José equalizing in the 71st min for Real Sociedad.
Celta de Vigo hosted Atletico de Madrid & lost 0 - 4. After a "nervous" start to La Liga with lack of goals, At Madrid found their groove today with a great performance that included the previously lost goals. Surprise result of Round 3 of La Liga, FC Barcelona 1 - Alaves 2. First defeat for Barça this season as they run into a very disciplined Alaves defensive line & were punished for their own defensive mistakes which Alaves exploited with precision counter-attacks.
Coach Luis Enrique was forced to bring on big guns Messi, Suarez & Iniesta in the second half but they could not take away from Alaves their well owned prize & the 3 points.
